Re: 2012 Santander German Grand PrixFair enough Guess then. Makes a lot of sense. Reckon you're in with a chance of this prize or do you think others will be even closer?(Original post by Lib)
The fastest last year was 17.9-something and when my boyfriend timed the stop on the video feed from last year it came out at ~4.2secs, so we went with a stop of ~2.9secs, so 1.3secs quicker than last year, hence 16.6secs. -
Re: 2012 Santander German Grand PrixPretty sure others are closer. And apparently McLaren reckon their fastest stop was a 2.31 secs in the end! Think the pit lane was a bit slower than the time before from the rain washing away the rubber between sessions (which we didn't account for!).(Original post by Motorbiker)

Re: 2012 Santander German Grand PrixI know who used to do it but it's gotten a lot more funny since so I think it's probably someone different now. Might even be a few people from marketing, not sure.(Original post by Stringer987)

Re: 2012 Santander German Grand PrixTo be fair Vettel might not even be in the top 10(Original post by Like_A_G6)
Ok, the BBC has ranked Alonso as the 10th best driver of all time and behind Vettel...seriously?!
I hope he isn't, as I wouldn't put him infront of Hamilton/Hakkinen/Mansell either! Alonso shouldn't be that low though, who's infront then!?

Re: 2012 Santander German Grand Prix10th seems about right right now, probably by the end of his career he'll move up to top 7, maybe even top 5 who knows.(Original post by Like_A_G6)

We don't know if it's behind Vettel yet because they haven't revealed the 9 drivers in front. I suspect Vettel didn't feature in the list at all because I highly doubt they would've ranked him ahead of Alonso.
EDIT: Just realised BBC said 4 of the current drivers feature, and they've revealed 2 so far so yeah Vettel will be ranked ahead of Alonso.Last edited by Marc Fiorano; 25-07-2012 at 12:12. -
Re: 2012 Santander German Grand Prix
Don't see why Vettel is infront. Great driver no doubt about it but there seems to be hardly any times where he hasn't qualified on pole and won the race. He's also been somewhat of a sore loser and thus sportsmanship and behaviour towards other drivers impacts on how great a driver you are.
