The fastest last year was 17.9-something and when my boyfriend timed the stop on the video feed from last year it came out at ~4.2secs, so we went with a stop of ~2.9secs, so 1.3secs quicker than last year, hence 16.6secs.
Fair enough Guess then. Makes a lot of sense. Reckon you're in with a chance of this prize or do you think others will be even closer?

Pretty sure others are closer. And apparently McLaren reckon their fastest stop was a 2.31 secs in the end! Think the pit lane was a bit slower than the time before from the rain washing away the rubber between sessions (which we didn't account for!).

    So Button's pit stop time was 16.831. Winners guessed 16.82, 16.842, 16.847 and 16.815.

We're always working on new stuff, same as everybody else. Still got more work to put in on the new system too.

I know who used to do it but it's gotten a lot more funny since so I think it's probably someone different now. Might even be a few people from marketing, not sure.

To be fair Vettel might not even be in the top 10 I hope he isn't, as I wouldn't put him infront of Hamilton/Hakkinen/Mansell either! Alonso shouldn't be that low though, who's infront then!?

10th seems about right right now, probably by the end of his career he'll move up to top 7, maybe even top 5 who knows.

We don't know if it's behind Vettel yet because they haven't revealed the 9 drivers in front. I suspect Vettel didn't feature in the list at all because I highly doubt they would've ranked him ahead of Alonso.

EDIT: Just realised BBC said 4 of the current drivers feature, and they've revealed 2 so far so yeah Vettel will be ranked ahead of Alonso.

Yep so Button and Raikkonen would be ranked 22 and 23 (don't know in which order) and the four current drivers in the top 20 would be Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel and Schumacher

Don't see why Vettel is infront. Great driver no doubt about it but there seems to be hardly any times where he hasn't qualified on pole and won the race. He's also been somewhat of a sore loser and thus sportsmanship and behaviour towards other drivers impacts on how great a driver you are.

Reading the comments section on that BBC article is the most hilarious thing ever. Benson and the analysts are being torn apart by the fans lol

Just checked and I've got the top comment on the 'Alonso gets pole' story

Benson is a very bias 'analyst'. He seems the perfect candidate to write these blogs for sky or itv in there day but not the BBC who claim to be impartial.
