Acting/ dram and theater soc In exeter
    Hey,
I will study in Exeter in September and would really like to act/ play drama in exeter (university or in the city) but I never played before. Is there any good soc for complete beginners?
(I ve heard that some of them are pretty competitive and I just want to act and learn some skills)

Oh! and btw I am not a native speaker so do you think there is anything suitable for me?

    Thank you!

Look at the list here, under the 'arts' heading. EUTCO, Footlights, Gilbert and Sullivan might interest you. Both XTV and the Film Society may offer screen acting opportunities.

Exeter little Theatre Company (ELTC) is an amateur theatre group that puts on 3-4 shows a year, nor ally including a pantomime, a musical and a Shakespeare. Their recent production was The Taming of The Shreew and uocoming ones are Calendar Girls and the pantomime

Obviously its hard to tell here just how suitable you will be. I think if your English is quite unclear you can expect reasonable difficulty in getting a speaking role as I'm sure you would understand, the audience needs to understand them.

Although if you have a reasonable command of English you should be fine also, ELTC allow the opportunity of getting involved behind the scenes.

    Ok thank you very much!
I think my english should be alright; I will probably go for ELTC to start and apparently they have a drama tutor which would be perfect.

Do you know more about this Company? Like when they meet or the kind of ppl?
