Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(Both the black ended wires from the 2nd pics go on the mobo, in pic 3 you'll see on the bottom left this yellow bit with pins, there should be another, where they both go in.(Original post by Coffeegirl)
Ok ill try and follow those instructions
I only cleaned the centre one
Actually can you clarify what I am supposed to do? do you mean the wires that say ground and then give voltage? or the ones that say right out, ground, mic-power -
Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(OK im gonna stick them in the yellow pins and see what happens :/(Original post by Iqbal007)

Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(there might be some writing or symbols nearby the yellow pins, your supposed to put them in a certain way, it controls the power and stuff from the case.(Original post by Coffeegirl)

Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(
Hey. I had the same problem with my computer and the motherboard had short circuited. I believe i had the same motherboard as displayed in the pictures. The motherboard is known to have overclocking problems, but my problem was a loose screw, which caused the short circuit. Check the light on the motherboard which should always be on as long as a power source is connected. If this is on then this shouldn't be the problem, otherwise a new motherboard is needed. Research shown that the motherboard i believe you have was stopped in production due to fault. Obviously it may not be the solution but is worth a check.
Good luck -
Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(whats your motherboard called?(Original post by Coffeegirl)

Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(YESSS it does boot up without the fans!(Original post by Camoxide)
The computer looks about 6 years old.
Unplug the fans and see if it boots up.
I think it is something like 4-5 years old but its had lots of upgrading

Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(Yeah something is probably shorting out.(Original post by Coffeegirl)

You may have put one of them in wrong or in the wrong place. -
Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(I have looked on the internet to see whether i am wiring them correct. The JFP1 and 2 jumpers have been correctly put in but most of the websites mention a speaker wire which does not exist? Am I missing something?(Original post by Camoxide)
Yeah something is probably shorting out.
You may have put one of them in wrong or in the wrong place.
Also would you know where I am supposed to put the wires that says 1 ground 1 + ....1-D ....1+5v and there are two of them. ???????? -
Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(Those are for any USB ports on the front of the PC, they don't need to be plugged in.I've had this once before, where the PC fails to POST after cleaning it out. Fixed it by clearing the CMOS; you can try this by removing the little round battery for a few hours or there is a reset jumper (as circled in the pic). To clear the CMOS using the jumper, remove and and replace it over the central and third pin for a few seconds before putting it back to how it was originally. Make sure it is unplugged from the wall beforehand (for both methods).(Original post by Coffeegirl)

Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(is their any wording on the motherboard?(Original post by Coffeegirl)

Because than you can find the manual and the instructions for the wires -
Re: PC not working! Need technical help :(I removed the battery for a few minutes but that didn't do anything. I'll try the unplugging the circled wires and see if that works(Original post by JayEm)
