How do I say "have a safe flight" in German?
The German imperative (or imperative in any language for that matter) has never been my strongest grammar point, so I'll ask the TSR language experts: how do I say "have a safe flight" in German? This is to a very good friend, so the "du" version would be best if it makes a difference.

    Vielen Dank!

"Ich wünsche dir einen guten Flug!" (Or simply: "Guten Flug!")

No imperative necessary, you don't really generally order someone to have a good journey - it's not really something you have that much control over anyway!

I'd imagine it's just the literal translation of 'good flight', the same as 'good morning', as you don't command someone to have one.

Edit: What the first post said

Fair point about the imperative! Thanks a lot
