The skin on my body is perfectly fine and I use (simple) soap on it. There is no oil, grease etc, actually quite sexy skin. However if I do not use the soap it is difficult to get my skin squeaky clean and it'll feel like uncomfortable dirt is present. There is no alternative.

You can be in and out of a shower in 5 minutes I really don't see what's so hard about doing that? I have one in the morning while I wait for my eggs to poach and my coffee to brew, it's not like it takes a huge dent out of my day, and even though daily showers might not be necessary it's nice to have the peace of mind that I'm not walking around smelling like Alan Sugar's gooch.

It basically is a signal of being a hermit, or a psychiatric patient, or just really in a crisis of depression and/or isolation, because washing and thus not smelling bad is the primary requirement of membership of a social group.

It is really bad because it is universally felt to be really bad.

The exception is if you do night work on motorways as a line painter etc, however, you will still be among the troglodytic/bonkers part of even that demographic, as most of them nowadays take good care of themselves.

You are young! (I think). That means you are at the peak of your physical perfection and beauty! You should wash every day! Not to do so is to push society away very strongly - and with it all possibility of social and thus personal and professional development and enjoyment. It, not washing (and I know it sounds paradoxical to call an omission an act, a thing, but washing is such a social norm and requirement that not to do it is an act) is extremely self-destructive.

People may not have been big on bathing until recently, but people also didn't used to live very long... until recently. As a female, you probably want to wash up certain areas more often, particularly folds in the skin and er... lower regions... because the bacterial build up there can cause some fairly serious and generally uncomfortable problems later. It's unfortunate that you don't really see anyone for weeks at a time though, I dunno if it's by choice or not, but it actually sounds quite sad that you don't really want to do much to yourself because of it... (pardon if I'm making too many assumptions, I'm trying not to)
Anyway, for personal hygiene reasons, it's usually better to at least wash the nether regions to prevent any awkward infections or build ups, and maybe consider using a surfactant free soap if you don't like the idea of harsh chemicals? It may take time, but personally, I really enjoy the process of grooming and taking care of myself, it makes me feel really good and pretty, and just generally happier.

I've read some stuff on the internet and a lot of people say showering depends on your skin type and where you live. I would say my hair gets greasy every 2 days, as for my body, I never actually see a reason to shower. Usually I'd have a shower twice a week.

Because it's the holidays now, I tend not to go out everyday. Therefore I see no reason to have a shower. I still brush my teeth and wash my hands. I just don't shower. I don't feel dirty, or smelly. I still change my underwear and everything else is kept how it always is.

I'm just wondering how bad it is that I tend to have a shower once a week?

This is just my own personal experience. I don't tend to a lot of exercise, but I do tend to go for a 10 minute run everyday. After doing exercise people often feel sweaty and feel like they need a shower. Although I do feel like this, I eat breakfast straight after my run. Meaning this feeling has gone so I don't feel like a need a shower. Even in general I just don't feel like I need to have a shower. I don't feel itchy or dirty. I admit that my hair is greasy but because I'm not going out I see this as no problem.

I'm also wondering if anyone else does the same thing?

You thinking you don't smell doesn't mean you don't smell... It's very easy to get used to your own smell. Other people will notice like its obvious, which is why people who don't wash for a millennia don't care much....until the disease starts spreading.

Perhaps you could get away with the cheaky day off or so, but dispite people's skin being different, id rather go with the typical hygiene rule of thumb. Shower everyday.

I shower every day, wakes me up in the morning and I don't fancy stinking out my office at work either.
