Re: wavy/curly hair white guyTry to avoid thinning scissors, they usually make it worse. It will temporarily thin the hair into a style, but after a week or two it will get bulky. Basically thinning involves cutting different strands to uneven lengths, which means it tends to grow out with a lot of volume. ESPECIALLY if you have curly and coarse hair (which is already pretty uneven). It will only leave your hair looking frizzier then necessary.(Original post by TheHansa)
What effects will either layering or thinning my hair have? It's pretty thick as it is, would thinning it make it flesh out more when it eventually grows?
Thanks TSR
Of course in expert hands and done on the very ends of hair (not down near the scalp) I'm sure it will be fine, or have them cut vertically into the hair with regular scissors. Not sure on layering, I'm sure a little bit will be fine, but I think its more for poker straight hair. Your best bet would be just to get it trimmed regularly/groomed into shape. -
