Re: What is the root cause of violence?
There is no single root cause. There are many different things that can motivate someone to be violent. Anger (righteous or otherwise), enjoying someone suffer, the desire for control/power etc.
I mean. There are some situations where violence is the right course of action to take. To protect the innocent from a tyrant for example. There are also situations where violence is not the right course of action to take I.E you have trouble at work so you beat your spouse. Both situations have different causes/motivations, but they both end in violence.Last edited by limetang; 20-07-2012 at 23:35. -
Re: What is the root cause of violence?
Disrespect towards other people. It's like people in western countries like the US and the UK saying stuff like 'lets just bomb all of Afghanistan, then we don't need to be bothered about the bad guys - civilian casualties are okay as long as the bad guys die' and political activists from eg. Saudi (bin Landin as an example) disrespecting like of westerners and of ME people who got hurt in attacks as well 'as long as it hurts the US gov and the western world'.
