    Testosterone.
This. Over 90 percent of people in prison for violent offences are male. However this could be due to females being weaker and unable to do much damage so we can't say for sure.

Violence is the use of physical force or power against a person. Kids will do that all the time. Its natural, particularly in men. Pretending people don't have the need to let of steam or that violence is not part of our make up is just as dangerous as not being able to control or curb violent behaviour. Games like GTA and CoD aren't making kids more violent, they are popular games as they are a way for kids to indulge that side of themselves society doesn't allow. The UFC and Boxing are popular among young men for a reason.

If everyone attended sparring classes and beat the **** out of each other in a controlled environment once a week society would be a better place. I used to do kick boxing and spar with my friends once a week it was awesome, I was always more patient and calm afterwards, everyone need to let of steam. If we accepted that instead of hiding it like a dirty little secret you wouldn't have so many frustrated young men out of Friday and Saturday nights looking for a fight at the end of the week.

Or maybe the real reason is because it's in our nature to be violent.

I think most people can be violent simply because they can, there is no other reason. Who are you to say they cannot be?

We're part of the animal kingdom, and as such we have a certain instinct towards violence if it benefits us personally.

Of course there's also pure sadism/violence for the purposes of entertainment.

Einstein said it was something within the male gene. Females merely followed the actions of the dominant male.

    There are several
    1) Psychopathy
    And this is wrong, why?
    2) Revenge manifesting itself in different forms

Despite what pop culture/pseudo-Eastern thinking says, revenge is normal
    3) Greed
    4) Self-validation
    These are also normal.

Is there any valid reason why violence is not "wrong"?

What? I never said any of those wrong but psychopathy is not a great thing to have, although 'wrong'??? I am confused.

I would say that violence can be justified with revenge or the need to eliminate someone from society. Then again, it is all just subjectivism (whether violence can be justified)

Common sense to whom? You alone? Not everybody thinks as you do.

People engage in violence for the hell of it, because it's fun, and they want the victim to suffer. it's that simple.

Violence, for no cause (i.e. psychopathy, self-validation, greed, sadism) is regarded by society as morally wrong and unjustifiable hence it is wrong. If we are not going to judge morals by society and what people believe, then what is there to judge by?

Violence is justified in some exceptional cases.
