Did I just imagine this book?!
Hey, fairly random, but I can't remember an entire series of books I used to read years ago so thought I'd publish the very hazy details I do remember here to see if anyone recognises it. But I remember so little I am genuinely starting to think that my brain just made it up!! xD
Anyways, the general idea is of this boy who lives in this crazy, magical world and has to go off on an adventure. The covers of the books were cartoons I think and the books were humorous and maybe aimed at early teens. Now for the details: I vaguely remember two scenes... just two scenes. The boy has a bear friend, maybe called beezlebear or bumblebear, who pushes him up a tree into safety and dies from being stung by these crazy insects. It's very sad and then I think the boy is taken to be eaten by a pterodactyl/ bat thing. The only other scene I possibly remember is that he encounters a tribe of gelatinous pink blobs, of which the daughter of the leader takes a liking to him and he has to escape. I also think he acquires a piratesque airship later in the series.
Anyone?!

The edge chronicles? First lot of books the main character is called Twig. What you've described seems to generally fit those books iirc from when i read them, maybe not the pink blobs though
First book in the series: beyond the deepwoods

Re: Did I just imagine this book?!The series was split into 3 different sequences(Original post by Clare~Bear)
I remember the edge chronicles. Is it jsut me, or did they egt very muddly later on in the series? It was almost as if they went back in time, to before the first book!?!?
The Twig sequence
The Rook sequence
The Quint sequence
All of which took place at different times I think, iirc the Rook sequence was after Twig, not sure about Quint though. I really liked those books when I was younger, still got them lying around somewhereLast edited by Stirlo; 21-07-2012 at 17:39.
