Apparently she's wearing a "floor-length purple satin prom dress". Literally.

    No I didn't?
Your post 98 implies that her feeling okay about her size and her feeling okay about herself should be linked. Put simply, I think her only thoughts about her size should be "Oh ****, I should lose this fat", and also that she should not tie her happiness as a person to her happiness with her weight.

Look at this entire thread. Do you think that she is really able to feel happy about herself as a person if this is the reaction to just a picture of her?

Put simply, my viewpoint is: No its not healthy. And she must know that. But frankly, I'm sure she gets enough **** just for her weight every day. Maybe she deserves a break.

Be happy with your person if you are a good person, be happy with your body if you have a good body. Why should anyone be happy with being obese? That's insane! And sticking up for that mindset is just discouraging her (and others in a similar position) from getting healthy.

That's a ridiculous statement. So we shouldn't treat people who are obese as normal human beings, because otherwise they might start thinking that its ok to stay that way? They must be hunted down, mocked and generally made to feel terrible, because they have to realise how wrong they are. And of course its only for their own good. Load of tripe.

See, again you are tying them as people to their size. Why? I'm capable of pointing out that someone needs to lose fat without judging them as people, why can't you do that?

Yes. Read the article, that girl's happy with her weight.

    And now you're being facetious.

As long as she is promoting being happy with who you are, rather than promoting obesity, that's fantastic that's a much better idea to promote than "bullying fat people is good because it'll make them lose weight", which as well as being negative, is also untrue. She must know that her weight is dangerously unhealthy, but it's her life to live

That said, not sure she should be looking after kids... more than anything because kids like to run, and she doesn't look like the running type. I don't think promoting an unhealthy lifestyle is a big worry though; their parents should be in charge of what they eat and controlling their weight and exercise at such a young age. Also, whilst I support the inclusion of everyone in beauty pageants, I think having one purely for bigger women is just creating a wider gap - why not just create pageants where people can enter themselves based on a certain feature rather than the whole body, eg having sections for beautiful eyes, pretty faces, nice biwbs - then it's open to everyone, regardless of weight, but doesn't create the big divide based on who's skinny and who isn't.

She's not beautiful at all, she's disgustingly overweight. I would bet my house if she could duplicate her personality into a slim body her boyfriend would drop her in a heartbeat.

Don't see why the word anorexic is being mentioned, so far from that being on the horizon its unreal.
I bet she could eat your house, the negs are worth it...

How is she promoting obesity? She is promoting being happy with who you are, be it tall or short, fat or thin or just judgmental like yourself.
I haven't quite picked a side on this, but I think it's fair to say that being happy and being content are two different things. Happy people can want more for themselves and content people can be unhappy with their life. Positive attitudes are great and all, but our society likes to think that positive thinking is about being ignorant of reality (as is the case OP is making).

Personally just because she has a boyfriend and she's OK with her weight, it doesn't mean it should be acceptable. Especially considering she entered herself into a beauty pageant for the "larger" ladies. You wouldn't have a beauty pageant specifically for anorexics so why is this any different?
Lol but there are beauty pageants for anorexics. The difference is they don't call it that. Just like they don't call hers 'beauty pageant for the morbidly obese'.

ugh she is not beautiful she is gross. the only thing worse than a morbidly obese person, is a proud morbidly obese person

her bf is prob 1 of these weird men who are chubby chasers and get turned on by girls putting on weight and getting so fat they cant get out of bed.

a drain on the NHS and an unpleasent sight for my eyes

We can't tell people to just be 'happy as they are' when that could mean them eating themselves to death. She's dangerously overweight and people giving her support like 'yeah you go girl, who cares what size you are' is just cruel to her in the long run.

We shouldn't pussy foot around the issue of obesity, it kills people for goodness sake.

She'd have trouble 'going' anywhere to be fair.

I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF FAT MIDDLE AGED WOMEN WHO ARE TOO LAZY TO WORK OUT AND LOSE WEIGHT AND ARE JUSTIFYING A 'LOSER OBESE, DISGUSTING, UNHEALTHY, BAD EXAMPLE, REPULSIVE, MORONIC BODY'

Fatties, that's enough cake. You can't have your cake and eat it.
