    Benefits of gaining EYPS
What are the benefits of gaining an EYPS - Graduate Entry Pathway certificate in regards to employment? I gather it's not an official qualification?

I know a few people with EYPS and it hasn't really enhanced their career like it was supposed to and it's not recognised in the new EYFS. It's better to just get QTS if you can. I think it depends on the job role for whether it will boost employment prospects. It might be worth doing in an interim year before a PGCE but otherwise it's a lot of work for practically no recognition!

Like I said, it's probably useful during an interim period so in this case I would probably do it! Shows dedication to teaching and learning and will give you lots of experience before the PGCE. Get that science grade and you'll be sorted!

As baloon parade, friends of mine who have done EYPS feel that it didn't really progress their career.
