Re: phones4u advertlink to ad on YouTube?(Original post by Melikeyflute)
I just saw a phones4u advert where they advertised 24 free months of something. Guess what it was... Unlimited texts? No. Unlimited data? No. They advertised 24months of free WIFI lol. Seriously? Who pays for using wifi on your phone? -
Re: phones4u advertNo link I'm afraid, maybe watch Derren brown on e4 because that's where I saw it (in the breaks).(Original post by mangoh)

Re: phones4u advertWhy... That almost had no relevance to what I posted at all.(Original post by PinkyPurply)
A teacher from my old school is on those adverts
The one at the beginning putting on the terrible welsh accent, his name is JD and he taught me GCSE French!Last edited by Melikeyflute; 21-07-2012 at 22:38. -
I totally agree with you, giffgaff is the best(Original post by jumpingjesusholycow)
With the existence of GiffGaff now, I don't see the point of middlemen like Phones4U and Carphone Warehouse. It's definitely cheaper to just buy a phone outright and then get whatever you need from GiffGaff on a non-contract scheme.

That's all very well if you can get a signal on giffgaff!(Original post by amylea_94)

Where I live it's impossible to get an O2 signal, despite the coverage checker saying otherwise.(Original post by amylea_94)

Re: phones4u advertWell the point is that most people tend not to have £400+ to spend upfront on the latest smartphones. Contracts allow you to spread the cost over 18/24 months and if you shop around, you can even find deals that are on par with (or sometimes even cheaper than) buying a phone outright and topping up a PAYG sim every month.(Original post by jumpingjesusholycow)

Re: phones4u advert
It's about the frequency, not just the network a provider uses. Here in Canada for example, there are several small companies which use Rogers' network (which is one of the largest provider in Canada)
But the smaller providers use a different frequency on the same network. Therefore, coverage is affected a lot. Higher frequency = worse signal. So find out your provider's (or phone's) frequency
