Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFZ7C5-h_m4
What I don't understand is how can someone be that cowardly. He ran away from his wife, drop his kids on the floor because he was crying and bolted for the door. He then drove home.
Seriously, I just don't understand how a person can do that. If I did that I would kill myself in shame.
But, this story is pissing me off. How could someone be that cowardly, how could someone live like that. The funny thing is that a stranger had to save his wife and the two kids whilst getting shot in the leg. Now she is marrying the coward who ran away. I hope she doesn't marry the guy. -
I couldn't agree more(Original post by Cephalus)
Yes it's so easy to judge from a computer screen isn't it?

Difficult to judge so harshly based on that. You don't know how you'd truly react in a situation like that, only how you'd like to think you'd act.
Although, it was kind of stupid to bring such young children to TDKR in the first place. Seriously, who brings a 4 month year old baby to the cinema?Last edited by Carrby; 22-07-2012 at 01:32. -
Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.I agree. One things for sure though that Jarell guy is a hero.(Original post by Cephalus)

Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.He doesn't seem too happy with what he did either... lay off the guy. Unless you were there you can't really judge.(Original post by Simplicity)

Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.
Wow, that sounds pretty crazy. You'd think the adrenaline and panic of the situation would make him want to protect his partner and kids even more than himself? Then again, I don't know what it's like to be in a situation like that so I don't think I'm really one to judge, especially since this guy must be feeling so terrible about the whole thing anyway without everyone else berating him over it too.

Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.
When someone suddenly starts firing indiscriminately into a crowd that you're a part of, your body's natural instinct to survive will kick in. By time he was able to overcome this, it was probably too late.
Coward or not, he's gonna spend the rest of his life having nightmares about his wife n child being shot. Cut him some slack. -
Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.Well everyone's laying into him. You can't blame him for trying to put out his side of the story can you?(Original post by Jack93o)
I like how he decided the next best thing to do was to go on TV and talk about this. -
Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.well, how the **** did this story get out in the first place? did his wife snitch on him?(Original post by Cephalus)

Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.
Hard to say but it does seem as though he chickened out IMO. It was a young lad that saved the woman and kid in the end.

Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.
As everyone is saying, you can't really judge him if you weren't there, it was instinct for him to try and save himself, but yeah surely he'd have thought about it a split second later to try and help his own family, the guy who helped out and took a bullet for them should be the real story, rather than the Rohrs guy chickening out.
Also, the title is somewhat misleading, implying that he deliberately left them there to get shot and killed, which I very much doubt -
Re: Survivor Jamie Rohrs left wife and 2 kids to die.I like how you find it so easy to criticise what he did, but you really don't know how'd you'd react in such a situation, and I hope no one on this thread ever has to find out. I reacted the same way as you the first time I heard, and thought he should have protected his children atleast, but I just don't know anymore.(Original post by Simplicity)

The man who saved his family is a hero and should be praised as such, he should give everyone something to strive for. Interesting how this story somewhat reflects the incidents in the real batman movie.
