Mine didn't. It just would have made everyone involved feel awkward.

I figured it out by myself for the most part.

I seem to remember that sex ed at school wasn't surprising, so I assume I heard it from elsewhere. Can't imagine my parents sitting down to talk about it though - might have been my grandma instead...

They did with me, thought it was pretty weird they knew so much about bees having sex with birds.

I had a slightly awkward conversation with my Mum where she showed me what a tampon was when I was about ten.

Then she bought be a book about puberty and sex and gave it to me.

No need for awkward conversations and I had everything I needed to know and could look it up whenever I wanted to.

    Worked surprisingly well actually.

Hell no! I cant even say the word 'period' around my dad without hoping the ground would swallow me. Also, my dad refuses to acknowledge that I am no longer a four year old. My mother would just stammer her way through it and then probably never talk to me again.

No way in hell would my parents have ever done that. Maybe when hell freezes over. We just aren't that kind of family.

Nope. I think I only had a couple of sex ed lessons at school too, yet I knew more than what they taught I can't think how I knew!

nope. My first exposure to sex was watching, with the rest of the kids on the street, a boy put his flaccid willy in a girl's fanny, saying "look it goes in!". I was about 5-6 at the time, the hot couple must have been about 4.

    Grim but funny.

edit: lol at the disbelief. Yeah it happened, I remember it vividly. The boy didn't actually hump her, her just put it in, left it, and took it out a few of times. He looked like he was enjoying himself and the girl didn't know wtf was going on. All the kids who were watching found it interesting and funny. The boy was quite good friends with the girl prior to this encounter and used to play with her dolls etc. I grew up with them on my street, they've turned out fine.. ish.

If you don't laugh, you'll be crying, apply this to everything, especially this tale of childhood experimentation.

Nah. There's not much that can't be learnt in biology or a couple of hours of PSE.

    My sex education:

*dad looks out the window* "there's a lot of underage pregnancies around here isn't there, I hope there's not going to be any in this house."

That is so grim, I want to believe that that's a story you made up.

I never got any talk from my parents, my mum told me next to nothing (other than tampons take away your virginity and some other old wive's tales - you wouldn't think she was educated...).
And I'm glad, apparently when they did it with my brother, they were really cringey about it.

    I'm the first yes vote!
Yeah they did, my mother sat me down and explained everthing, because she said she'd rather I hear it from her so I can ask any awkward questions than hear it all in "sex education" at school. It wasn't awkward at all (that's not sarcasm, it really wasn't.)
