Re: Harry Potter Warner brothers studio tour -- Who's going/been?
I will be going in October, with a bit of luck. It does seem very expensive, but I will pay it... and also buy plenty of outlandishly priced merchandise too

I went to the Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studio in Orlando last year. Really enjoyed it, but thought the shops inside were a bit small for the number of people wandering around. -
Re: Harry Potter Warner brothers studio tour -- Who's going/been?
I just went this weekend! The shop is huge but it is fairly expensive. I was gutted because the one thing I really wanted - a glass with the hogwarts crest on - was completely sold out. Also annoying because I was getting my cousin a replacement one too! They did have a lot of stuff in there though! Plenty of sweets.
My favourite part was probably just first entering the Great Hall. It was incredible. Diagon alley was brilliant to walk down too, and the 1:24 scale model is actually amazing. You just cannot iamgine how incredible it looks until you see it in person. Loved seeing all the props and stuff - really is a great opportunity for big Potter fans. -

Oh another thing - get one of the passport things that people are handing out! They say they're just for children, but keep asking until someone gives it to you. You can get it stamped and it's something cool to take away with you, even if it is pointless (and childish!) xD

I went and I absolutely loved it! In the shop I bought a tshirt, a photo frame and a keyring, they also had sweets, mugs, books, toys, things like that.
There's nothing particularly interesting nearby. My family went to dinner afterwards at Frankie and Benny's which wasn't too far away though. ^^(Original post by Mariarghh)
Yay! I'm going tomorrow
can't wait!!
What's the surrounding area like?
random question.

Yep I'm expecting the prices to be high but as a potter fan I know I wont be able to resist and will have no choice but to dig a little deeper into my purse (or my dads wallet)(Original post by Sarcastic_Sazza)
They price them atrociously because they know we'll buy the stuff anyway. I know I will.

Re: Harry Potter Warner brothers studio tour -- Who's going/been?
Yep I have been. It.Was.Brilliant
Even if the gift shop prices leave you reallly overdrawn
Top moment: When you enter the great hall (couldn't help smiling at that bit), Seeing Dumbledores Office and the model at the end of the tour was by far my favorite.
You really have to see it to believe it and with the music and lighting it was just perfect.Last edited by for_healing_only; 28-07-2012 at 08:43. Reason: terrible spelling -
Re: Harry Potter Warner brothers studio tour -- Who's going/been?Yep I am looking forward to seeing the great hall and Hagrid''s cabin. Are there a lot of opportunities for photographs?(Original post by for_healing_only)

Yes the shop is very expensive but it's all quality (there was something like the jumpers on sale were made by the people who made them for the films, but I can't remember exactly though) and there is a great range, from keyrings to replicas and artwork.
My favourite part of the was definitely walking into the Great Hall and looking at the Hogwarts model, it's surreal! But everything is amazing, I found the smaller parts the most interesting, like the animals and the graphic design, as they're not as well known.
Take as many as you want! They encourage it, I took hundreds(Original post by LaShy)

The best part was definitely the scale model of Hogwarts, it was incredible! I know everyone has already said the gift shop is overpriced, but it is seriously insanely expensive. One of the robes they wear (which felt pretty average quality at best) was £75!

Scale model of Hogwarts
I want one of those. The way it lit up was really good, plus the audio tour was really well done.
But yeah, the gift shop... did you see the brooms 300-400 WTF!!! I was tempted by Malfoys cane though and I was sad enough to buy a wand (30 for Dumbledore) -
Wow that was incredible
loved every single minute of it <3
The audio guide was great, Tom Felton has a lovely voice :L
Butterbeer is disgusting :/ Didn't like it at all
I really liked the Hogwarts Model and Snape's Classroom- the Burrow was wicked with the carrots
The shop was sooooooo expensive
I only bought a Hedwig mug and a chocolate frog keyring (which by the way actually, smells like chocolate) and that cost me £24!! Shocking, as if the tour cost wasn't high enough :O
Overall though, completely loved it and every penny was definitely well spent
<3

Re: Harry Potter Warner brothers studio tour -- Who's going/been?I went there last year too. As much as I hate to say it, the ride was amazing, i recommend it to everyone, but the shops were hugely disappointing.(Original post by WhyteBoar)

It was so busy, it was like Back to School time for all us Hogwarts students. It was annoying. But we saw the Durmstrang boys and the girls and they did a performance in the street- that was awesome!

) houses of hogwarts t shirts and so on, basically harry potter merchandise!
