How can I become a carpet fitter?

Im looking to make my own money as it seems no one will give me a job.
Step 1: Learn how to fit carpets.

Step 2: Advertise that you can fit carpets.

There are courses and stuff, but I don't really see the point as it only really gets taught by being an official or unofficial apprentice. I can't imagine that it would be a good idea to go out on one's own with less than a year's experience.

You will also need a great big van. 4m is the standard width, so it would have to be able to accommodate that length roll.

I would of thought that most people would either

a) be able to fit their own carpet and do so
b) have a friend or family member who can and will fit their carpet
c) get a carpet fitting service from the place they buy the carpet
Carpetwrong don' t fit carpets sub contract prlvate carpet fitters do the job for a pittance
