Help Needed
For all you fitness gurus.
Anyway, I've done regular exercise throughout my life I play football once/twice a week as well as playing cricket every now and again.
Despite this I am still pretty skinny despite eating as well as anyone else.
Does anyone have any tips for putting on weight and devising a plan to try and put on some muscle with no weights? (so doing pushups, or whatever you guys do)
I am not particuarly fussed about being able to lift up a elephant or whatever I just want to look a little more aesthetically pleasing, if you catch me.
PS. The nearest gym is miles away so please dont suggest that. -

I'm not that much of a guru but I do know that people have different body types. For me my body is really responsive to exercise so if I do a lot of exercise I will get big fast, but I can also lose all that just as easily. That's mesomorphic I think. And then I think for some (closer to the ectomorph type) their bodies are less responsive to exercise.
So it may be that getting yourself to the shape that you want will be tough but then easier to maintain.
Pushups and crunches are always a good place to start if you have nothing else. -

Putting weight on you just need to eat in a calorie surplus
Putting on muscle without weights will be harder (depends how much muscle you want)
For example you can do bodyweight stuff and get very good gains very it
but as you are skinny (light) you will soon find alot of press ups, pull ups etc easy
A kettlebell or some kind of weights will help. You could do crossfit stuff
Could get sandbags, kettlebell, dumbell
You say the gym is miles away how many miles? -

I don't particularly want to be 'massive'.
I have some dumbbells up to like 10kg or something, but no proper machines (apart from a running one)
I live in the sticks, it's about 10 miles away.

How old are you? A lot of teenage guys worry too much about being skinny before they have even finished growing which often lasts until the early twenties.
I'm 18 btw. -

I have a mate who had a ridiculous growth spurt: I can't recall the exact figures but at 15 he was pretty much my height - 5'7" - yet he is now around 6'6"
I remember he used to eat like a proper bastard - he would regularly, for example, eat family buckets from KFC yet he was skinny as a rake. He almost looked ill. Now, at 26, he has filled out to some extent and whilst still a little on the slight side - he is definately not gangly. -
Re: Help Neededits not about just eating more, you need to find your maintance and eat above that, for some they eat a 1-200 more others 500 or more. Everyone body is different and will react differently(Original post by game of james)

you can do all sorts just research
On a treadmill
Run for 400 metres
25 air squats
25 press ups
10 pull ups
repeat that 5 times
Make stuff up with the equipment you have
