Any thoughts? The only thing holding me back from the nexus is that its limited to 16GB whereas the S2 is expandable to 32GB.

Also, will the release of the iphone 5 affect these prices - should I wait a few more weeks?

The Nexus all the way. It has Jellybean now which means you get Project Butter which stops the inherent lag that you get with Android.

iPhone 5 release will drive prices down, but it's expected that Google will release a new Nexus this year come November anyway - if you're not desperate, wait until Octoberish to see price drops and to wait for any Google announcements.

Haven't both of them got SD slots? If so, you can just buy one of those on Amazon quite cheaply.

The S3 has to wait until the end of this year for Jellybean (latest Android OS), and I dunno what they plan to do with the S2.

Better still, get the iPhone 5. If you need extra customisation then Jailbreak it. Much better to have a simple, efficient phone than a laggy, stuttering one.

For customization android is the way to go. And I agree I would go for the Nexus.

The Jailbreak community is huge now, and I find that generally, what can be done on Android, can be done on iOS.

I just prefer iOS. I generally favour the apps more - there's a more diverse range. There's also more dev support, and so apps generally reach iOS first.

No real qualm with any Android that runs Jellybean though. Otherwise, they're just awful to use.

The Samsung Galaxy S II. Probably one of the most anticipated devices of 2011. A phone that breaks all barriers. One of the first phones of its class, sporting a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM and a Super AMOLED Plus 4.3 inch touch screen. The phone stocks 2.3.4 Android Gingerbread, and boy does this phone run it good! Phones like the Evo 3D that have similar specs just can't keep up with how good of a phone this is. It has no lag what so ever, no problems with multitasking and just runs everything perfectly.

The Screen is just gorgeous, nearly impossible to see pixels, and colors are bright. The phone uses new technology that instead of back lighting the whole screen, it only back lights the parts of the phone that need to be. If half the screen is black and half if blue, then only the blue side of the backlit will shine. Which results in incredible battery and truer blacks.
