Question about seating in the Olympic Stadium...
I tried to buy a wheelchair ticket for the Paralympic opening ceremony but they've sold out.

I was wondering, are some of the seats in the stadium in such a way that I could park my wheelchair beside a row of seats, transfer onto a seat and then have my chair taken to the wheelchair storage place (I saw there are such things on the map).

Or are all the seats on different levels like a staircase (like at the cinema) making it impossible for me to park beside a row of seats briefly.

Would appreciate some replies from people who have been in the stadium.

    Thanks.

Lots of us going to the stadium tonight! And I will take note, but if its anything like the Basketball arena, while the dedicated wheelchair users entrance has ramps, the other sections certainly have no possible access as the route to the seat is up a flight of steps.

Thanks! Was just wondering whether some rows have a wider space around them on the top or bottom of the stairs like most cinema theatres have.

I made a point of checking out the access, and personalty cannot see how you could safely use a wheelchair anywhere , apart form the desinated spots, the seats are placed so that everyone gets a good view, so its a steep stairway, the stairs are also used throughout the evening.

Sorry I know its the answer you did not want to hear.

Thanks a lot for keeping an eye out for me. I guess I'll have to watch from my TV screen
