cracking/grinding shoulder but no pain
What causes it? I don't have any pain but I am worried that it may give way one day during a shoulder press.
Pretty sure it's something rotator cuff related but I thought such injuries were assosiated with pain. The only pain I have is that my shoulders have started to fatigue quicker during shoulder exercises.
Any ideas of what I can do to remedy this? -
Re: cracking/grinding shoulder but no pain
I get this too, mine is due to my hyper-flexibility. Which means that I can bend most of my joints far too far! My shoulders grind, pop and click, sometimes they dislocate although that happens less since I have got older and stronger. I find that they grind more when they're forced out of line i.e. if I'm laying on them weirdly in bed or overstretch doing exercise. It could be a growth related thing, go easy on them for a week or two but try to maintain your strength with lower weights hopefully it'll go away. If you're concerned go and see a doctor or physio.
If it were a rotator cuff problem then trust me, you'd feel it! -

I was considering just lifting lighter from now on. I think lifting too much for too long is never a good idea. -

I don't know... I'm not a doctor and I haven't seen or heard or examined your shoulder... If you're that worried go to the GP.
If you're under 20 or 21 it's probably related to growth or development or something of the like. If not you're probably doing too much too quickly. Like I said rest it and see if it improves, you really don't want to be causing shoulder problems for yourself. -
