    dog with ticks
hi, just noticed that my dog has lots of ticks on her face, at least 5. she has had one before and we managed to get that one off, but im not sure if she will sit still long enough for us to get all of them off. so was wondering what to do as it seems like a bit of a waste to take her to the vets when we could try and do it ourselves. what do you think i should do?

i think you should be careful and google safe tick removal.

They are parasites that can kill your dog so get rid of them asap. Five on the face? ouch.

thanks so much for the advice, we decided to take her to the vets in the end, definitely the right call, as the vet took 42 ticks off her, the most they have ever done on a conscious dog

I assume you have a tick remover and know how to use it? My dog once had a tick on her upper lip, she wouldn't let us remove it - luckily it fell off before we had to go to the vet.

Maybe try removing it when your dog is sleepy - she may not have the energy to resist you and may just let you get on with it!
