Best conversion for MP4+Subtitles for DVD Player
    Hiya

I have some MP4 files and their respected subtitle files in .srt form (same file name and stuff by the way e.g ABC.mp4 and ABC.srt)

My DVD player can't play the subtitles along with the MP4 file. I turned the .mp4 file and the .srt file into a .mkv file but unfortunately my dvd player can't play those.

Anyone got any recommendations as to what format I can turn my videos into so as that I can watch them on my DVD player and be able to toggle subtitles and what software I should use to do so?

Thanks to anyone that can help

Maybe it might be best to find a software to hardcode the subtitles onto the mp4. Then there's many programs to convert to bup & vod. Also I think convertX to dvd might be able to do it.

I was hoping to softcode so I could turn the subtitles on/off instead.

Would it work if i converted mp4 to avi then turn it into divx (which has softcode subtitles within the file right?).
It's annoying sometimes finding free converting software that doesn't leave watermarks or limit the length of video you can convert to like 3 minutes.

Handbrake will do this. Just 'import SRT' from the subtitle's drop down menu. It's free too....

EDIT: Use MPEG-4 under 'Video' too.
