Omg your bit about somebody you know driving into a bush made me cry with laughter! That's crazy! Loool(Original post by Bread Basket)
I felt sure that I had cut somebody up within about a minute of starting the test. So I drove for the rest of it knowing that I had failed. But I passed.
Someone who I know drove into a bush on a bay park and still passed too.

Omg that's crazy! Good that he got his way in the end though.(Original post by cfizzle)
My boyfriend had a big argument with the examiner about what he did on a roundabout - the examiner said "you were completely wrong to do that" but my boyfriend bull****ted him and said "well that's what I've been taught to do" etc. Argued for a good 10 minutes about it and he still passed. Said the examiner looked very peeved whilst telling him the good news

Re: Passed by luck?
On the show me tell me questions, the examiner asked me where the engine coolant was and I pointed to the brake fluid thing and didn't get a minor.
I'm not sure if she wasn't sure where it was, so had just given me the benefit of the doubt, or if I remembered wrong and she actually did say the brakes

Re: Passed by luck?
Uh-oh, probably not the best thread for me to be looking at right now.
Failed my first test today due to two serious faults:
1) Pulling off from a safe and convenient place with my left indicator still on. She had to tell me to put it off.
2) Not looking in my mirrors when exiting one of the roundabouts.
Hopefully next time may go better and I will remember not to trip up on such small things. Friends have told me the woman I got is particularly strict and has one of the largest fail rates in the Centre.
Back on topic - my instructor said one of his students was repeatedly told to watch their speeding on the test, got told off by the examiner at the end for repeated speeding; yet still somehow passed. -
Re: Passed by luck?
I got four minors in one box - positioning when turning right - and still passed.
That said, all of them occurred in the last few minutes of the test i.e. turning into sharp rights and partially crossing the other lane. I passed because for 38 of the 40 minutes my driving was fine. -
My examiner was the most amazing human being ever!!! Spoke to me throughout the whole test asked me about my interests talked about movies etc etc! There was a silly mistake he could have easily have given me a serious for but didn't! And just faulted me with 2 minors! That is luck!
