Why not just directly use Windows Movie Maker? It's now part of their 'Live' service, so it's called Windows Live Movie Maker, but it can be found on the Microsoft website for free or by googling.
There's an option to record from webcam in it.
The stock software provided for your webcam will generally have a recording suite built in. So work out who made the webcam (might show up as Acer in your case) and look on the start menu under all programs. There should be something like an 'Acer' dropdown, then 'webcam' from there.Last edited by SillyEddy; 25-07-2012 at 08:47.
