Lolwut, close to 25% of those who took part in the poll didn't even ask for more. Besides, your initial statement was that a £3000 interest free overdraft was *******s, which it isn't, after that you specified the first year, which it isn't. Still wrong.

I believe I said the plan was *******s. The plan was to ask for a three grand overdraft in first year, so I'm not moving the goalposts at all. As I say - and this is all I'm going to say on the matter - if she asks for a three grand overdraft she won't be getting it. Incidentally if you exclude those who didn't ask for three grand it doesn't change the percentages that much.

If you decide to do all the sums and work out the exact percentages it changes it by and you decide it's significant, do keep it to yourself. Throat slittingly dull.

She won't get three grand. On that basis: *******s plan.

End of.

hey just wondering, what threshold do your parents earn more than so that you get less loan? My dad earns about £30,000 but I only get £4500 student loan apparantly and that seems a lot less than everyone else? i'm not sure if its right?

My accomodation per year is £4750, leaving me with £374 per year to live on. How on earth am i meant to manage with £374 for all that? Someone help :frown:

Is that the NHS Bursary or the University's Bursary, because for that's a VERY generous means tested Bursary for someone over the Grant limit!

I don't get this. Why would anyone want to beg relatives for money? I'd find it so degrading to have to do this. I'd rather work every spare hour I had than do that.

And how do you wash if you don't have a basin/shower etc?

Me too Tycho, but i know my parents won't let me starve :smile:

I dont get a university bursary, i only get my maintanence loan which is £2300 ish, my NHS bursary which is means tested and i get £1000, and an NHS grant which anyone on an NHS course gets for £1000 :P

In the name of malnutrition. Doesn't matter if you're eating 3 course meals everyday, if they posed to give you 3575 then that's what they give you.

It's like my mate lent me £40 two years ago, I was 16, he was 19 at the time. He was earning £24000 a year, so I decided not to pay him back, he got mad an asked why and I said because you don't need the money it don't effect you...

I learnt my lesson, and it's the principle that matters.

thanks for the replies, and verococha no, its not rocket science, i'm not sure whether you've ever done a medical degree but we have very few holidays and i'll be on clinical placement in a completely different place to my university for 60% of the course, so it may not be rocket science, but it would be impossible to commute to my job whilst on medical placement.
