Re: Deep voice
I have a very deep voice and for me the biggest disadvantage is not being able to sing most modern songs (especially ones with autotune a lot) at karaoke. Also, in job interviews and when I was a door knocker for charity, I struggled with voice inflection as its easier for deep voiced people to slip into the 'monotone trap' and sound really boring.
My voice always sounds good when I'm in the shower but when singing along to the latest Marina & The Diamonds or Rihanna song in the car, everyone is less than complimentary about it. This is not to say deep voiced people can't sing modern music, just that most are better suited to Tom Jones or Hot Chocolate - You Sexy Thing. -

On a male or female?
On a male, it's generally seen as sexy. I'm not too bothered about it. As long as the boy doesn't sound pre-pubescent, that's deep enough for me!
On a female... well, you tell me!

Re: Deep voice
For a female, it makes for a couple of awkward situations when you and your friend are singing an octave lower than the boys.
All the guys in choir had fairly high pitched voices.
What Dagnabbit said about singing is true for girls as well. I always end up singing the male half of any duets because I sound like a cat being strangled otherwise.
For a male, deep voices are just lovely to listen to. I don't know why. I suppose it also makes me feel less awkward if the guy actually has a lower voice than me. But yeah, deep voices are very sexy.Last edited by aspirinpharmacist; 25-07-2012 at 09:38. -
Re: Deep voice
I always thought that I had a deep voice but when I heard my voice on record, it turns out that it isn't at all.
I'd think that I'd be pretty scared if I heard a woman with a deep voice...
As for men, deep voices can be seen as being authoritative.Last edited by DotComBoom; 25-07-2012 at 09:45. -

Your man card, hand it over.
