How can you say that Jesus spread the message of Allah? Although you would disregard the Bible as evidence, there are many non - religious sources that said that Jesus claimed to be the Son of God
If Jesus was God who is he referring to when he says "father"?

I'm not sure that some tradition about men doing the housework really makes up for the fact that a Sudanese woman is more likely to die in childbirth than she is to finish primary school...
    Is that an islamic ideal?

Muslim means that I will be lied to and will not even question it.
    Read the Qur'an.

    (Original post by Flash7)
Muslim means that I will be given a very vague book which I can distort to make whatever truth I want.
Again, read the Qur'an. And whilst you're at it, read what Ijma is.

Muslim means that I will lie to myself just to try and prove the so called scientific facts in the Qur'an regardless of how illogical my arguements may be.
You don't even know the definition of what a Muslim is, yet you talk about logic? lol

    (Original post by Flash7)
Muslim means that I know that Muhammad was a perverted pedophile and although I would never marry a 6 year old and consumate my marrige with a 9-year old, it's okay for my most perfect prophet to do so.
And from this I know you're not really that intelligent and are simply just looking to troll. And it's "Marriage", "Paedophile" and "consummate".

    (Original post by Flash7)
I think it has a few more definitions. I'll get back to you with more.
Yeah, tell your Priest I said Hi.

I don't think I was implying that this is a religion vs atheism thread.

Of course, religions are based on faith, but when deciding what faith Jesus was part of, do we not look at factual evidence?
How else do you decide whether he was Muslim or Christian? Are you supposed to use faith for that as well?
Islam believes that there was always and will be one message it does not disregard the abrahamic religions before it. It believes that any messenger or prophet bringing this one message to the people is Muslim.
The core message is the same in all the abrahamic faiths. Jesus delivered this message so he is considered Muslim as did Moses.

    Does it matter?

Regardless of what Islam says it is not much fun owning a uterus in Sudan.

And do you even know that this tradition owes itself to Islam? If it's only found in Sudan it's most likely a traditional custom from pre-Islam and pre-Christian times.

The Doctrine of the Trinity: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity

One of the central parts of the Christian faith and kinda basic knowledge.

Islam=social justice? LOL this professor has spent so much time in the Ivory tower that he has lost touch with reality. Somebody should tell him that Islam means "submission" and that there is little room for social justice in Islam, just look at the position of women in that religion.
Are you ever going to stop bashing Islam at every opportunity...?

I never said it was due to Islam.

However you were using Sudan as an example of a Muslim country where women are respected.

The answer is the opposite, they are in fact treated terribly.

It is difficult. If I were to describe it to you, I would compare it to a book. A book has length, width and breath. None of these is equal to the other but when they are in unison we have a book.

It's clear we have 1 God. But that God is made up of three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

    Sigh.

Jesus wasn't a Muslim. If he even existed he was a heretic Jew. There was no such thing as a "Muslim" in the ancient world before MoMo came down from the cave and proclaimed himself a Prophet ordained by Allah via the Angel Gabriel.
Respect yourself and don't you dare mock our Prophet (PBUH).

Me: What is the definition of a Muslim

Your response: Whatever Islamaphobic things that come to my mind.

How can I work with such an IQ? And I told you to read the Qur'an, because of how insincere and dumbfounded your question was.

    Oh don't be so uptight.
We do not have to respect your beliefs.
There is a difference between respecting you as a person and respecting your actual beliefs.
We can mock your prophet all we want.

Well to be fair it is a concept which has been disagreed over my many Christians. It took several centuries before the early Christians came to an agreement over how to define it.

One thing to note however is that the doctrine of the Trinity is considered to be a mystery. That is that because the Trinity is part of the nature of God, and God is unknowable by mere humans, then we will never truly understand it.

However the essence of it is that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are all facets of or incarnations of God. They are all in themselves God but in the case of the Son, Jesus Christ, he is both human and divine in nature.

He is both the Son of God and God incarnate himself via his dual nature.

Confusing I know, but it explains why Jesus can be both God and talk about being the Son of God.
