Thanks for the offer but I have a girlfriend.

Rape isn't an offer

Why wouldn't it be...?
Original post by farrow000
holy **** that girl is tall but I still would

I don't get how a man could be raped, he must of been aroused in order for to happen.

So ****ing retarded. If a woman's vagina got wet during rape does that mean she enjoyed it and therefore mean she consented?
Original post by .eXe
Rape isn't an offer but you seem to want to make love to me. As flattered as I am, I must decline unfortunately. You're just my...ahem...preference. I prefer pretty women. Oh an I seriously doubt you will one day have an opportunity to meet me in a dark alley with no street lights and take advantage of me

You don't 'decline' rape.

This really is showing how dumb you are haha

Yes ffs. Penises respond to physical stimulation not actual conscious thought. Thats why you always hear about guys getting boners at inappropriate times. If guys could control them do you think that'd happen? So even if the guy got an erection it wouldn't mean he consented.

Plus drugs like viagra could also be used.

Lol if you actually think we're having a legitimate "discussion" right now, you're more out of your mind than I previously thought.

Food for thought: you just stated that you wanted to rape me if you had a chance.

What happened to all that moral high ground insentivity gibberish??

oh I know, you got trolled so hard you forgot which character you were playing. Fake morality is so funny to me. Too bad you were caught so quickly...literally took me like 5 posts. Not a very worthy opponent.

You haven't responded to a single freaking point I made.

Er, maybe re-read my post. I did.

I start off by answering your question as to why someone had been raped would be on this thread.

I then say why someone may not be triggered by the title of this post might might be triggered by the jokes on the thread.

I then say why you should, as you put "censor" what you say about rape jokes.

And then I say that if you really were so sympathetic as you claim to rape victims that you would not joke about them.

And then I go on to say that flat out rape jokes are not funny and that they contribute to a culture which leaves most rape victims unwilling to come forward.

I answered every single point you made.
Why is it all the threads on TSR seem to end up in two posters having a heated discussion? Since registering on this forum I notice most threads contain jokes, especially the news ones. If you don't like this then don't come on this forum. As soon as someone famous dies there are jokes circulating, my other half always mentions the 'Ghost 2' jokes when I mention Patrick Swayze, it's just the way the world is, I don't think it's that big a deal to be honest, if we don't laugh in life then we cry!

On a topic related point, I always wonder how men can be raped when they have to get hard first. Maybe this is ignorant of me but I've always wondered it.

~Er, I did.

You just rehashed your original political correctedness garbage, put it into different words and posted it.

a) no one is forcing rape victims to see this thread
b) just because people might get offended is not reason enough for censorship
c) I can say whatever the hell I want as long as I abide by forum rules
d) joking about rape =/= agreeing with rape

I got hard this morning just because I was so damn comfortable in bed. Does it mean I want to **** the duvet?

You seriously think there's some mental process going on where we command our dicks to get hard? Like some ****ing summoning ritual. Wow

18 tog is nice...but no.

Point being you can get hard for inexplicable reasons. Consent is not the same as the body responding to stimulus.

And you've in that post just repeated yourself without even stopping to think about what I've said to counter those points.

I'm sorry you don't view my arguments as anything more than "political correctedness garbage" but if you refuse to see why making jokes about rape and rape victims is wrong then and refuse point blank to accept any responsibility for what effect your words may have on other people then I'm afraid.

And of course you can say what you like. And others have a right to label you as part of rape culture. Part of the problem.

Sure you can joke about rape and not actually agree with it. But how on earth does a rape victim know that?

I'm sorry that you can't see why joking about rape is wrong, perhaps one day when you see for yourself the devastating effect that rape has on people and how they feel when people joke about it you might change your mind.

But for now, fine, go ahead and joke about rape. And today 230 women have been raped. My sides are splitting.

We're discussing something even broader than rape. I'm talking about censorship itself. If you just try to censor anything remotely offensive then where does it stop? How much will you censor?!

Because chances are, most things can be regarded as offensive if they are heard or seen by the right person. So you're telling me that to avoid such a possibility, the only solution is to exercise uber control on our speech so that we may not offend someone?

Tell me where the buck stops then...?

And once again, stop making it seem like I think rape it okay. Your last sentence was absolutely not needed.

It stops with commonly agreed human decency. Most people agree that rape is too directly offensive to joke about. Rape victims or not. So we don't do it.

The majority of people override your theories on censorship. End of.

That's not good enough.

Someone who may have lost their parents in a house fire maybe be really offended by a joke about fire or about a burning house. Another person who may have personally volunteered in Africa might be mortally offended by a joke against black people.

The point I am making is...different people have varying levels of tolerance and based on their own experiences, something minor can set off a very bad reaction.

It seems to me that you don't really care about those people...all you seem to be worried about are rape victims.

That shows that you worry isn't actually legitimate, but rather as I have stated again and again, you are fishing for rep by stating the obvious over and over again.

If rape jokes shouldn't be allowed because they are offensive, then no offensive at all should be allowed. You can't selectively slate on rape jokes, but not really give a damn about other things which can be equally or more offensive depending on the person.

Oh and most people don't agree that at all. If that were the case, comedians like Jimmy Carr, anthony Jesselnik and frankie boyle wouldn't exist

33 people's heads (and counting), it seems.

With the amount of people I've encountered who genuinely hold those views, it's hard to detect when somebody is being sarcastic.

It was done iin a sassy black American woman tone, you know the one. There's usually one on Loose woman or the American equivalent.

I'm not talking about censorship generally. I'm talking about not joking about rape.

I mentioned further back in a post why rape is such a traumatic crime and thus why in particular you should not joke about it.

And I'm not advocating state censorship or anything, I'm advocating that you and everyone else who jokes about rape stops thinks before doing so and maybe think about the consequences of what they say.

But by joking about it, and defending your right to joke about, as I have said, you are contributing to a culture where rape victims are ridiculed, looked down on, blamed for their actions and are left feeling to ashamed of what has happened to seek justice.

Not necessary? I was stating the facts. 230 women are raped in the UK every day. While we argue about it a woman somewhere in the country is being raped. That is the reality of it. If you cannot deal with the reality of what you are insisting is your right to joke about then I'm sorry.

Here are some more facts about rape:

1 in 4 women worldwide has experienced rape

21% of women and 11% of men experienced sexual abuse as a child

54% of rapes of women are carried out by a partner or former partner

91% of women never tell anyone about their rape

But you are talking about censorship because you are in effect asking me to censor what I say, and to keep rape victims in mind.

I mentioned further back in a post why rape is such a traumatic crime and thus why in particular you should not joke about it.

yes you're right, it is a traumatic crime. But again, we aren't making rape victims read the jokes! Why don't you understand that simple point? We aren't forcing rape victims to read this stuff. What you're suggesting is that basically: don't make fun of rape because it's traumatic and don't post about it because some rape victim might see it and get offended. Also, don'ttalk about rape because you are now promoting tghe culture which makes actual fun of rape victims.

HELL NO WE AREN'T. How the hell are we promoting a culture of making fun of actual rape victims??? If a gun kills someone and we make fun of a gun, does that mean we are now promoting a culture of killing people with guns?

Come on, get real.

All those facts are unnecessary. Somehow you feel that showering me with rape statistics is going to change my opinion that jokes on that topic should be allowed?

making fun of rape victims = SHOULD BE BANNED
making fun of rape itself = I seriously do not see the need for this type of censorship
