MA Crime, Terrorism & Global Security OR MA Transnational Organised Crime - Comments
    Hi everyone.

I'm considering applying for either MA Crime, Terrorism & Global Security OR MA Transnational Organised Crime. Can any of you comment on the quality, accuracy and professionalism of the courses, tutors and faculty/department with regards to these courses.I'll be doing these courses via Distance Learning so I will need to put a lot of faith into the support of the faculty.

    Cheers

Are you currently studying at Staffs??? I think my lecturer who takes a module in third year called transnational organised crime takes the MA course. But I've found that the lecturers are really helpful and will try and resolve any queries you have quickly with the best possible results

No, I'm in full time work. I've no undergrad degree so I'll be applying based on my work experience.

Good news that the lecturers are helpful.

    Thanks

Glad to of helped. Like I previously said there is a third year module on trans nat crime which I've elected to take, hopefully with the view that if I enjoy it I'll do the MA afterwards if/when I graduate next year. Which ever you choose to do I hope you enjoy it

It looks like I'll be trying for the crime, terrorism and security MA. I'm just waiting to hear back from one of the lecturers about entry requirements.

I've decided to pursue the MA Crime, Terrorism and Global Security.

Good news, I heard back from the Senior Lecturer who is also the Award Leader (I'm not entirely sure what that is) today. He is already very keen to have me on the course, even though I only gave him a precis of my CV. In fact, he offered to help me with the application process!

That sort of positivity is very encouraging, and I get the impression that he will want me to "feed into" the course.

I'll let you know how I get on, I just need to write my business case for work now.
If there's anyone else doing the course, please get in touch.

Sorry I'm just browsing posts and thought this looked interesting. What the hell do you do for work if you can get on the course with your work experience? Spook?

    It certainly does sound great.
