Re: Can't poo :/My mums got crohns and sadly it is a very common problem experienced by crohns suffers. If might help to book an appointment with a good dietitian and see if they can plan an appropriate diet for.(Original post by Anonymous)
I have Crohn's disease. The problem started about 2 years ago when I started having really bad stomach pains. Lasted until September last year when I was diagnosed and given medication. Since then I've had almost no problems (haven't had diarrhea since around February).
The problem I have atm is that I can't poo. It started on Tuesday, and I hadn't been for a couple of days before that. I've tried several times when I have the urge, and it "feels" like I'm pooing, but nothing comes out and I'm getting worried now. What should I do? I read that eating foods with high fibre content helps. I ate a full box of strawberries earlier but still nothing. I'm not really sure if it's connected to my Crohn's disease either. Advice is appreciated.
You might also be better off visiting a crohns expert as opposed to a doctor as they will understand your symptoms a lot better if the situation persists for long.Last edited by The Epicurean; 28-07-2012 at 00:35. -

Eat a high fibre diet over a few weeks and you'll notice the change hopefully. Also check with your doc if this is compatible with your crohn's disease - wouldn't want you to like die cos of me!
