Re: Olympics Women's football
The quality might not be as good, but the Team GB women have been a lot more entertaining to watch than the men so far. Plus we actually look like we could do well in it, as opposed to the men's football where everyone seems to think it's a miracle we got out of the group.

GB out, lost 2-0 to Canada. Lacked any real spark rather than under performing it seems
Two stonewalls not given (you have to moan about it ;D), refs had quite bad game in general tbh, wrong decisions with throw ins and such given frequently
But oh well, they did well to get there. US or Japan will win it. -
Re: Olympics Women's football
Quarter-Finals, not a bad result. England have reached the quarter-finals of the last two World Cups and I'd have expected that of Great Britain, however after the way they played in the Group, including the win on Tuesday I think
USA v Japan will be the Olympic Final. And if Japan can maintain their defence then they'll be the winners. -
Re: Olympics Women's football
I was at the Ricoh Arena tonight, and GB just lacked everything. No flair, no real fighting, didn't seem as if they wanted it.
I used to play down the wings and I'm pretty sure I could have put up a better fight than our left winger tonight, despite the fact I had to give football up due to dodgy knees. That's how frustrating it was.
Fair play to Canada though, by far the better team. I want them to beat the USA but I doubt they will ): -
Re: Olympics Women's football
It was just one of those things tonight - you'd think GB were outright favourites but Canada are not a bad side. In the end its a good shown, the expectations kind of rise after the brilliant group stage though.
Japan to beat US in the final. Japan have started slowly, but with their best players peaking at the right time, this could just be their Olympic moment.
