    Lewis on pole!!!!! :woo:

A subdued celebration by McLaren and Lewis too.. considering that its McLaren's 150th pole they should be much happier..

If Hamilton can get away quickly and McLaren don't cock up any pit stops then its going to be very, very tough for anyone to beat them.

Looks like its Hamiltons race to loose. Hopefully he can score several points whilst Alonso wont score that many, not just because I support him but also to make things more open at the top.

Hamilton was on rails especially the third sector, sublime driving!

I think Hamilton isn't as happy as he would otherwise have been because of that Lotus parked right alongside him. Their race pace is super and starting on the front row you have to say it's their best chance yet for a race win. Hopefully should be a good fight tomorrow!

Qualifying was kind of boring though it just lacked that fizz the other races have had.

    Alonso starting nice and low
lol it's always so amusing to see your childish infatuation with Alonso.

Have you been tugging on your testicles out of sheer frustration in the last few races that he's won? :mmm:

Think thats partly cos Hamilton didn't really have much competition.

I've heard the McLaren might struggle with tyres and under race trim lotus might be better. Who knows though!!!

Am i the only one that is getting annoyed by the removal of the gravel traps? This has been especially notable these past two weekends at Hockenheim and Hungaroring. Every corner now is tarmaced for escape but it's not punishing drivers for errors.

Definitely. Soon they'll be knocking down all the flats in Monaco so they can build massive run-offs 'just in case'.

Nah he's got pole by bigger margins this season, Spain being one example, and they were still exciting qualifying sessions.

I think quali in Spain had a bit more uncertainty until Hamilton put that lap in. There was actually shootout for pole and there was more drama post-quali too. Today Hamilton didn't really have anyone to compete with in Q3, so there wasn't really any excitement and suspense on who'd get pole - it was pretty much certain that it would be Hamilton.

As for the race, its set to be pretty exciting!

What made Hamilton's pole even more likely was that he was about half a second quicker than P2 in Q1 and Q2 - his Q1 lap was also set on the medium tyre.

I hope Hamilton wins tomorrow, but I'm not too sure. The last time he won from pole was Canada 2010.. more than 2 years ago. And with Lotus' impressive race pace it'll be a tough day..

Yeah I think Lotus will be the main threat. It would be good to see Hamilton establish a title challenge because imo Webber's too inconsistent to put up a thrilling fight with Alonso. Vettel's keeping himself there as always but he (or the car) is not showing the winning form of earlier.

Saw this during FP3 today and it really made me laugh out loud.

I think it's because the camera man wasn't showing the other wing for the comparison Ted was asking for.

    Here's another gem

Irvine is such a badass lol, great ending from Ted!
