How long until you see changes?
    Hey,

so, this summer I've started an intense fitness and healthy eating regime for a numerous of reasons:
    - To get fit
    - Tone up
    - Help my skin (acne)
and just to feel better in myself.

Granted it's only been a week so far, but in that week I've -
    Swam 6 miles
    Run 6 miles
A 30 minute cardio work out each day
and my diet has been very healthy, no chocolate, fizzy etc etc

Anyhow, as of yet I've not seen much of a change at all...
Granted it's only been a week, but seeing ad before hand I used to do barely any exercise and my diet wasn't totally healthy, I would've thought it would've made at least a bit of a change to my body by now?

So, I'm just wondering, how long it takes to see changes in your body after doing intense workouts daily?

Any tips, advice, hints etc would be great!

You should start to see body changes in 3 months on the average. However you may not be where you really want to be in up to 6 months. (and that’s really sticking to your exercising and food intake). You have to be patient. Then when you do see the results you will be glad you stuck it out.

    Good luck!!

Depends on your nutrition, your fitness/workout regime. Everyone experiences beginners gains fairly quickly and they start to slow down a few months in. Just keep at it and you will succeed. Also there is no such thing as 'tone' for that you need to lose body fat and build muscle, so i recommend some intense weight training in the 8-12 rep range or so.

If you're training mostly to lose fat, which it looks like, you'll see results pretty quickly. Like, a month or so.
If you're training for muscle, you should see visible change after ~4 months (Assuming you regularly do resistance training).

You're doing a lot of cardio without weights which means you'll see definition much slower IMO. It also depends on genetics-- some simply respond to exercise much better than others. Also many other factors like intensity of exercise, diet and sleep.

Personal experience shows big changes in first 4-5 weeks then it slows, then after a few months they'll be an accumulation of small changes. Take before/after pics. I think in 3 months you can transform quite a bit if you're strict and train hard.

you'll never notice any change in your body. get over it. if your lifts are increasing and distance run is increasing then you know you are going in the right direction.

there will be no real change for 3months+

I think that it is pretty difficult to see changes in your own body.

To me, it is like asking 'how long does it take until I look older?' It happens too slowly and you get too used to what you look like on a daily basis to really notice.

It also depends what you are going from-to; a guy who is literally a few pounds away from being totally ripped is going to notice a bigger difference in a month than a big fat guy would, even if the fat guy drops four times as much weight. This is commonly exploited in before-after photos for the typical online GetRippedIn28DaysLOL! type rip off programs - they take a ripped model and take a good, well lit, well posed photo and then they bloat him for a couple of days and take a dimly lit photo of him unflexed and sticking his gut out for the before photo. The difference can be pretty remarkable. Check this for an example of a five hour transformation!

I think the best thing is to take pictures and take measurements (e.g. waist size, chest size etc.) and refer back to them every couple of weeks.
