Chemistry and Chemistry and maths degree
I'll be applying to 4 universities to do chemistry, and I'm also interested in chemistry and mathematics degree at Leeds, can i apply for this degree as well as 4 applications for just chemistry and would i just have to incorporate both chemistry and maths in my personal statement?

Re: Chemistry and Chemistry and maths degree
It will obviously be a big benefit to the combined degree. However it will also probably be good for the pure chemistry degree. Admissions staff love to see people applying for sciences who have a background based around sciences and maths, so it can only help you really.

Oh so they wouldn't mind me mentioning maths as 4 of my applications will solely be for Chemistry?(Original post by Dan1909)

Re: Chemistry and Chemistry and maths degreeSaying you have an interest in maths won't hurt you at all, it's definitely a plus point to have when applying for a science degree.(Original post by poopnoddy)

If it's a case of somebody who's done 3 A-levels in maths, physics and chemistry, and somebody who's done music, english and chemistry, then (assuming the two people get the same grades, and are roughly the same calibre) then the university will always favour the one with maths and physics. It's just a better set-up to take a chem degree.
So in short, mention it! It'll really help the dual degree, and help the normal chemistry degree as well.
