Re: Do you support euthanasia? (poll)
I support Villa but Euthanasia's defence is strong and it's finish is lethal, which is clearly the last resort for people suffering and it's their lives so whose to tell them that they must live or basically say that they'll have to kill themselves to rid themselves of the pain?

Re: Do you support euthanasia? (poll)
Yes but only after counselling and such...
Some people go drastic over temporary/solvable/etc things, and this is a non reversible action so it is important to get help before they decide such a thing.
If it is so serious that it's either death or spend the rest of their lives in pain (and counselling does not fix this) then I support it.
Yes life is important but people take it for granted to the point where anything that deviates from living is considered bad to them... It is just selfish and stupid to want someone to stay alive just for the sake of it when they are clearly in pain....
I support euthanasia as long as it is coupled with some sort of help.
I adamantly believe this... So what am I? A strong or moderate supporter? What is the difference?(Original post by hpcp)

Re: Do you support euthanasia? (poll)Uh, no. I don't fully support euthanasia but that doesn't mean that I'm void of all compassion.
Whilst I agree that we have the right to our own bodies and therefore should be able to decide if we want to live or not I think that there are too many potential issues surrounding it.
For example, how do we know that terminally ill people weren't being forced into it by their families or felt pressure in fear of being a burden? Also, what about patient that suffer from diseases such as Alzheimers? How can doctors ever be sure that they are in the right state of mind? Where do doctors ever draw the line at who has the right to die and who doesn't?
I understand that terminally ill people must feel so frustrated that they aren't permitted to terminate their lives in a humane and dignified way. However I do believe that it's right that euthanasia is banned so it can proctect vunerable people.
It's a hard question to answer.Last edited by .Scout.; 26-07-2012 at 19:08. -
Re: Do you support euthanasia? (poll)How can you not support it?(Original post by x[Aa$iyah]x)
i dont support it...doesnt mean i dont have any compassion
Would you rather watch someone live their final days in agony or see someone slip away with peace and dignity. -
Re: Do you support euthanasia? (poll)
I put "moderately" support because I do support it but it isn't something I've overthought much. But basically I think that if I were suffering, from a terminal disease etc., and wanted my life to end quickly and painlessly, then I should be allowed to do that legally rather than having to fly to Switzerland.

in patients where there is nothing more than can be done or they are going to suffer in pain yes, those who oppose try treating someone who is suffering in pain and has severe dysponea that they have really poor breathing pattern its notr nice for them or the family
