Ohhh right now that you mentioned product key, yeah I do have one and its on the label on the bottom of my laptop.
    In this particular order:

    1) ensure you have backed up all your data (documents, pictures etc...) on another storage device as with a clean install once it is gone it is GONE. You can use a usb/external hard drive or USB etc...

    2) ensure you can read the product key clearly. If you can't you will struggle to activate windows 7 later

If you are able to do the above please tell me what verson of windows 7 you have?

    Home
    Professional
    Ultimate

    32/64bit?

You can find this by right clicking 'my computer' and selecting properties.

    Okay

    Cool mangoh going sleep

FYI - before you do that I just wanted to let you know you need either a BLANK dvd disc or BLANK USB (has to be blank) to reinstall windows 7 using our method

You could backup your data and then transfer it to another computer/laptop

So then you have a USB that is empty.

Also needs to be 5GB (dvd/usb) or more in capacity wise.

Edit: if you are struggling with backup issues then please say so I can move onto method two (prefer if above methods could be sorted as method 2 is a bit long, involves creating partition to store data)

It's a safety net, but it's one with holes in. Anti-virus will not protect you against cutting edge malware/vulnerabilities and tbh, neither will patching to an extent as a consumer.

You need to not be so reliant on these solutions. A better way to browse unfamiliar/dodgy sites is to use a virtual machine. You can stand one up for free using Virtual Box and a Linux distro like Mint or Ubuntu, which will be hardened against malware and if you do break it, you just restore to snapshot and it's good as new.

Being a savvy internet consumer makes a big difference.
This seems a lot of effort just to be able to surf the internet safely. An easier approach would be to just sandbox your web browser with a program such as sandboxie so what ever you do in your web browser it can't effect the rest of the computer. Installing some chrome addons can also help you stay away from known dodgy sites.

Why does it need to be blank?

Because when your burn the ISO file (the file needed to boot windows 7 setup)

The program automatically deletes everything on the disc/usb to make sure it doesn't conflict and is the correct format.

    Do u not have a blank dvd/usb?

Hmm I'm not entirely sure if that would be a good idea as I THINK there may be issues retrieving it later.

Can I do method 2 for you over teamviewer? Its a free remote desktop program.

    If interested PM me.

    Cheers

In that case, I think might just wait until I get a portable external hard drive, I've been wanting to get one anyway.

This thing isn't exactly an emergency, I could wait until sometime next week when I go out to buy the hard drive, then I'll do this. Is that good with you?
