Nearly ****ed my shoulder up today.
    Basically I am on WS4SB.

I was benching. And so stupidly, I didn't check how much weight I had added on to the bar. I benched 10kg more than what I was meant to be benching.

I dropped the bar and I fell off the bench awkwardly. My right shoulder feels really numb and although I don't need the hospital I just feel so **** because the whole gym was looking at me and an old man was helping me out because it has ****ed up my posture.

I just feel terrible. And I don't know how long I should stop benching for.

if i were you, i'd stop benching until your shoulder goes back to normal, but halfway through recovering, once the worst of the pain (i assume theres some pain or discomfort) has gone, start some stretching to limber it up again. remember what you do for one shoulder always do on the other shoulder too or you might get some muscle imbalance

The thing is I don't know the severity of the injury. I think it is the rotator cuff, its a sprain I think but nothing is certain.

I just feel really embarassed because the whole gym was staring.

Just don't wear the same clothes and I'm sure no one will remember in a week
If your that embarrassed change the time you go to the gym so you avoid the regulars.

But dont worry you were unlucky, focus on sorting out your shoulder and working out routines to accommodate for this. What everyone else thinks of you is irrelevant.

Thanks man. I realised it was so dumb not to check the amounts of weight on the bar very carefully. I was only meant to bench 47.5kg 3x5 and ended up struggling to bench one set of 57.5kg.

I am not a noob, but i've just started training again recently after giving up because of exams earlier in the year but tbh it is just very disappointing for me.

I won't change the time I go to the gym for those people. But I don't want to lose progress on the bench press either. So I don't know what to do in the mean time (one of the PT's in the gym said i should leave the bench for 1 month but I don't know)

Its difficult because you don't want to lose progress, but at the same time if you don't let it heal you could do long term damage.

The first thing I would say is find out what the problem is, that will determine how long you rest and what you can do to maintain your progress.

If you do have to rest the shoulder, take it as an opportunity to work on legs and fitness.
