Anyone looking for a housemate in Sheffield?
Hey, I'll be starting at the University of Sheffield this September and I'm looking to be in private accommodation. Preferably some place quiet and tidy and somewhat near the uni. If anyone has any rooms or knows of any please let me know. : )

Sounds like a good idea! But it depends on how much it is? Do you know anything more about the house Stennett? I'd also only be there starting from sometime in September.

My bad, I'm a bit unobservant apparently!

There's lots of advertised ones. I think I searched 'Houses to rent Sheffield' or 'student houses Sheffield'. There are some really nice ones. Obviously, by all means, consider the Springdale one, but I've seen some really nice other ones.

Re: Anyone looking for a housemate in Sheffield?
The top house is the one i saw. i would prefer the
top two for location. now regards to moving in i could
contact the company and ask whether they would
be happy if we did a staggered move in and rabea
start paying rent in September or if they would
want 3 peoples rent from August. so would be good to
    know peoples thoughts regarding that.
know i need to move in the next two weeks so an August contract is best for me
Also just to let you know i signed up on easyroommate
and got offered a house in crooks but i would prefer the
two mentioned earlier with your good selves.

I thought the 2nd house looked pretty nice, and its also cheaper. The only downside is that it doesn't come with TV and internet. Overall though I still prefer it. I'd be fine with a staggered move in if they allow that, and if not I could see if I could come earlier. what do you think lizolove? : )

There are some student specified sites that have much nicer homes available. They're nice, but you can get much closer and more spacious/more furnished ones if you can find them. Will have a search tomorrow.
I know one of you wants to live in Crookes, but have you considered Crookesmoor or Broomhill? Both a lot closer to the university, and have cheaper and nicer accommodation too.

Re: Anyone looking for a housemate in Sheffield?
I'm fine with most things as long as its a good price like the ones we've been looking at (or cheaper ^^). Also I don't mind the neighborhood as long as its near the uni. Just as long as we sort this out quickly, esp. since stennett needs to move in in the next two weeks

Re: Anyone looking for a housemate in Sheffield?
Cool, well tbh i am pretty set on crookes as would like
to stay near my friends (who say we as a house would
be welcome for tea sometime :-) ). I know that perhaps
other places would be best for you two so would understand
if you wanted to look elsewhere apart from me (as said before
i have been offered a room in crookes which i will respond to
on Tuesday dependent on how we are feeling by then).
So if you do want pursue somewhere in crookes nearish
springvale road i would love to join you both but understand
our preferences may conflict. if you do find anywhere i am happy to make some phonecalls to agents.

^ This is the ad for the house I'm staying in this September - I should've been there from July onwards but I've been overseas. We have a spare room available if anyone is interested. It's a ten minute walk if that from The University of Sheffield's SU, there's a Co-op and a bus stop right across the road and it's really pretty! Message me here or email me at btjarvis13@hotmail.co.uk if you're interested.

    Sorry guys! I've been away!
Oh, my bad! Have you both sorted out accommodation now?
Found a 4 bedroom house in between Crookes and Crookesmoor (Western Road), for £55/week, without bills. Double rooms, 4 spaces available. They prefer for people to apply as groups though. Let me know if you're interested.
