GRE
I dunno about you, but I have loads of GRE questions. If there is already such a thread, many sorries, and please link me up.
Anyway, what about that not being able to bring a phone into the test centre thing? Does that mean I can't take a phone with me? What if my train breaks down and I need to call me mam or something like that? -
Re: GRE
Hmm, actually, does anyone have an email address for GRE customer services? I expect it'll be pretty expensive for me to call them in America, and they've already stolen 117 quid from me so I don't want to invest even more in this ballocks.
I've been sending emails to General Inquiries and they are the most useless bastards I have ever encountered. -

Call customer services on Skype, it will cost you hardly anything. -
Re: GRENO I GET THAT(Original post by Narev)
The scores used to range from (some low number) to 800, and now from 130 to 170. There's no difference, just a different scaling system.
I mean why start a measure at non-zero? It's much less intuitive! -
Re: GREI find this is more of a frustation and you needed to let it out rather than a question(Original post by Hathlan)
NO I GET THAT

Re: GREThere might be a reason for it? I'm just genuinely intrigued, it just seems such an unnatural thing to do, and it makes the whole thing weird to think about. I mean, say you get 150/170, that sounds good right, but then it is only actually 20. So whenever you think about your score you really have to subtract 130 and think of it out of 40 anyway? Or maybe the point is 150 is actually a good score, and it sorta makes the scale deliberately a bit logarithmic in your head.(Original post by boromir9111)
I find this is more of a frustation and you needed to let it out rather than a question
THERE MUST BE A REASON. -
Re: GREYou're supposed to register then as:(Original post by Hathlan)
I only gave them my first and last names. I have a middle name. What will happen on test day, am I screwed?
First name: Firstname-hyphen-middlename / Middlename-hyphen-Firstname
Last name: Last name
*This was the problem I had with the GRE which took me 13 emails... -
Re: GRE
That being said, the test centre (Birm) where I took the test had the staff entirely British and totally friendly, who didn't really care much about these details. Even let me start the test early, gave me a locker to store my contraband stuff, and helped me make a report when one of the maths questions had no correct answer at all.

Re: GREFrom your recent post you mentioned you wrote the GRE exam in the Birmingham centre. I too have registered for the exam in the same centre. But the problem is that the address given is ambiguous to say the least.(Original post by Narev)

the address given in the confirmation mail is :
Prometric Test Center: 8115
BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM
Birmingham City University Faculty of Tech
Millenium Point, Curzon Street
BIRMINGHAM B4 7XG

Could you please help me out about where exactly is the exam centre? It would be of immense help knowing exactly where the centre is. When searching on google maps one cannot easily determine where the centre is. eagerly waiting for your reply
