Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?
Had just finished a training day with G4S, went to Stratford international to get the high speed train back to Kent.
Anyway, turns out there had been some problems at London Victoria, so all the usual London Vic commuters where coming through Stratford, which meant trains where arriving full to the Brim, like Tokyo full. After 3 trains and about 2 hours i jumped on a train to St Pancreas to get my train a stop early and hopefully get a place on the damn thing.
Arrived and the bloody thing was packed already, except it wasn't, it looked packed but no one had moved down the damn train, i was a little pissed off by this point, so i just opened the door to a random carriage popped my head inside, looked at the group congregating around the doorways and shouted for them to move down the damn train so other could get on, selfish bastards. ... to my surprise they moved, heh, was a horrible journey though, hot stuff and cramped like sardines. -
Was on the top deck of a bus, felt really ill, so I walked downstairs to tell the driver if he could stop a second fell down the stairs, and was sick all down myself and some landed all sown the stairs, Never had a more embarrassing moment!

I think that's pretty common on London busses over a weekend!(Original post by Emilytahnee)

Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?
This one's grim, when we were getting a bus into exeter for a night out and it was the last bus of the day, and as my mate was about to sit down i noticed something on the seat he was about to sit him. He sat on it before i could warn him, he immediatly got up and it immediatly transpired that he had sat in a pile of excrement. So we had to get off of the bus and go back to his house so he could get into some clean clothes. As that was the last bus we had to catch a taxi which set s back an unessesary £20

Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?
On a late night train back from somewhere (can't remember now) a drunk idiot pulled down his trousers squatted and took a dump in the middle of the carriage then he pulled his trousers up and fell asleep in his seat. This was bad enough but then said dump started to roll up and down the carriage thanks to the trains movements. After a girls screamed everyone was removed from the carriage and the conductor did the most hygienic and safe thing to do in this situation of covering up the **** with a newspaper

Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?
Travelling from Aberystwyth to Birmingham New Street last November/October, got to Wolverhampton and they announced that due to signal failures the train would terminate there. No replacement bus service to get everyone to where they needed to be, just a vague gesture in the direction of the trams and bus station (the bus had just left and it would be an hours wait for another). Luckily I was with a friend who knew the tram service well and got us there pretty efficiently.
Still ridiculous that we were expected to sort it ourselves though, especially considering the train was also going to the airport so people could have easily missed flights :/ -
Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?
Was waiting for a bus to get to college one day, waited about 40 mins, when it came, the driver saw me, and just drove off without stopping to pick me up!
I was then frustrated and confused why he ignored me! So i caught a different similar bus to where the orignal was heading, got there before him as he went through a town, and then waiting for the other bus that ignored me. It soon came, i stuck my finger up at him, i took down the number plate, time, and driver description. Went home, and reported him on the National West Midlands express website. Two weeks later i had a email saying that they noted it on his file, and he apoligized for not stopping

Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?
on the nightbus coming back from leicester square, 2 women were sat opposite me and one of them was really drunk. Suddenly she sort of jerked and I was covered in liquid, and i thought a bottle of sprite or something had exploded....... lo and behold, she had vomited all over me. Her friend apologised and I said it was fine, but then she went and did it again.
and its not like they were teenagers. -

I dislike it when trains have had signal failures, so you just have to stand/ sit and wait for up to an hour whilst they sort it out. So boring and hot.
But the worst, (simply for the embarassment factor) is when I fainted on a bus somewhere in South London. Apparently I fell forwards, smacked my head on a bar, then fell backwards and ended up slumped on the floor. According to my friends, I then woke up and tried to claim them that I had just 'tripped over'.
Some old ladies got up for me to sit in their seats. Awkward.

Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?
My worst public transport experience, is when I went upstairs and there wasn't any seat to sit on. I didnt realise this till I walked right to the back. I decided to stay standing upstairs, as my friends were there. The amount of people complaining, on how I was in they're way... *Embarassed*

Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?
I realised I'd just got on the wrong bus and was panicking and asking the driver a load of questions even though I wasn't supposed to, the bus was completely full and people were getting really pissed off at me and then I broke down and cried in front of everyone and the bus driver stopped the bus and let me off. Not really that bad but not particularly something I want to relive.

Re: Worst experience on public transport whats yours?Dubai Metro at 3pm(Original post by 2_plus_X_equal_me)
Well yesterday i took the usually train to london bridge. But when i got to the final destination 'Lonon bridge' were the train terminates, i literally couldn't move my legs. It was like pins and needles/numb. Well after few failed attempts at walking to the end of my carriage, a group of nice looking girls come on with olympic pass id's around their necks. So at the end of the day not to embarrass myself i decided to stay on the train untill the feeling came back, which was 1 stop
.
Whats yours?
45 degrees celcius outside, train is crammed with sweaty men with pot bellies, air con can't cope with the increased body count, smell of stale sweat from workers after a day working outside.
Plus arabs generally have less sense of 'personal space' - so expect to have sweaty shirts bumping into you incessantly throughout your journey. Practically no-one gets off until one stop (where you can switch to the other line) so it gets worse and worse until you want to scream, and then the train completely empties. Psychological trauma abounds...
