    Worst news in your life?
What is the worst news headline in your life?

For me it's either the kidnapping of Maddie McCann or 7/7. They both were horrible and shocked the nation.

Maybe the December 2005 tsunami? I'm not sure on death tolls, but that must've been fairly high.

The disappearance of Maddie McCann hardly 'shocked' the nation. It was bad news, but not shocking news.

9/11 was pretty shocking, especially seeing the 2nd plane hit the tower live on TV.

Probably the recent James Holmes batman event, 9/11 etc didn't really touch me because I was too young at the time.

This is going to sound awful, whilst I realise those kind of things are sad, they don't personally affect me and are far from the worst news I could hear. I've had a relatively good life so probably the news that my knee would always cause me problems after I dislocated it for the second time. As far as things go I'm quite thankful that is the worst I've heard.

Also, Madeline McCann was one of thousands of children that go missing every year, the only difference is that we heard about it. For instance, here are a few, have you ever heard of them?

Are you referring to the incident or my post?

It has to be 9/11. Most people actually saw the second plane hit on live T.V and both towers collapsing. I thought my mum was watching a film when I got in from school.

9/11 and 7/7 are the most memorable "bad news" stories to me.

For 9/11 I remember watching the tv and thinking it was the end of the world! I was only 7 at the time. I also had family who had recently gone over to America, so I was incredibly scared by that!

For 7/7 I remember a boy running into our dining hall and shouting to us "London has been bombed!" I was terrified as my Mum worked in central London at the time.

Madeline McCann was no were near the worst news story in my life. This is going to sound really harsh but it was one girl who went missing. Lots of young children go missing and get very little/no coverage. A kiddnapping is negligable compared to events like 9/11 and the 7/7 bombings.
