Re: General Olympic Threadobviously unfair!(Original post by MereBeing)
OMG, Chen Yibing doesn't get gold, say what!?
Everyone can see that Brazilian player stands less perfectly than Chen Yibing. -
Re: General Olympic Threadthe margin in points was so small, honestly don't know how thats even accurate(Original post by Adam_x)
obviously unfair!

Re: General Olympic ThreadVery much doubt it, but you never know.(Original post by Roobsa)
If she got a bronze with that dismount, seems like that could've been a relatively easy gold if she nailed it. Will she still be competing in 4 years? -

I feel he was cheated of the gold by the judges. The Brazilian guy made more mistakes but they still gave him a higher score!
I don't know much about gymnastics but I have to agree on that - in other news, they lose out on a gold yet again(Original post by Adam_x)

Well done to Beth Tweddle on the medal! -
Re: General Olympic Thread
Congrats to beth tweddle, a medal is fantastic no matter what colour in that event.
Wish bbc wouldn't hint at stuff so often. In the build up they hyped it up so much, then suggested that when she smiled she was "masking disappointment"... well we won't know until the interview, but I'm very happy with that result, I don't know about her.
She might have gotten silver with a better dismount, but the thing with these judged events is you never know.
Our gymnasts have been excellent, shame some people might get inflated ideas about where we should be thanks to media hype, but there we go.
EDIT: And then they say "That's the fourth gymnastics medal of the Games for Great Britain, which is fairly remarkable. Hats of (sic) to Beth Tweddle. If this is to be her final event, what a way to bow out." - Make your bloody minds up!Last edited by Squidgyness; 06-08-2012 at 15:28. -
