I was thinking there is loads of American drama shows on the TV, why can't we make good drama too.

British drama always tend to be crime drama, period drama or Doctor Who. It kind of gets a bit samey

The inbetweeners and the midnight beast - both British TV shows, both comedies and I think both amazing, but it's just because there are a lot of studios in America so for filming purposes it's easier.

The UK are great at comedy, there is plenty to be happy with but what I want is something more serious and gripping from the UK. US have Sopranos, Lost, Prison Break etc, want programmes like that.

BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc do have the money they just don't want to put in the effort. They rather make shows like Only Way is Essex because its cheap and effortless.

I quite prefer Britsih dramas tbh, i think they can capture relationships a hell of a lot better then they do with American shows. There are numerous of great british dramas which have been created - such as Doctor Who, Ashes to Ashes, Life on Mars, Torchwood, Skins, the Inbetweeners etc. I find American dramas over dramatize everything. May i add, America has tried to their own versions on alot of British shows and all have been a big fail :P
