Sign Language classes for nursing students

Hi,

I have got a question to the current nursing students about the sign language classes.

Have you been offered the “lessons” whilst on the course at all? If yes, than how much, or is it free?

Thank you

Never had the opportunity while I was training, you could if you wanted to seek out the training yourself and pay for it though. I'm unsure whether it is offered, maybe for people studying the learning disabilities branch though makaton may be offered first here.
I know I'm not a nursing student, but my class of SLTs, and Child Nursing students from Plymouth Uni were offered lessons in Makaton (so not BSL, but a very simplified version). Not everyone could take part though, as it was being held during the weekend just before exam week, so most people chose to revise instead. If I recall correctly, it was Saturday and Sunday all day at £60 per person.
