Re: Birbeck - Undergrad Full time question.
Hi Daniel, I am about to start my undergraduate full time course there. There was time till July the 15th to apply for a place at the halls of residence, provided by the UoL. Unfortunately my application was unsuccessful, so I am now looking for another accommodation.
Unless you are British (I am not) there are no maintenance loans for international students, only the fees loan (which I got from Student Finance).
The best alternatives I have found to the halls so far are ISH, another hall located in Central London (Regent's Park) and the private flats provided by UNITE, and among these (which are many), North Lodge, in Tottenham Hale, at something like £155 per week. Food must be provided by the students though, but there are small kitchens in every flat. Besides, it is circa 6 miles away from the main Campus, but the journey only takes 10 minutes by tube. There are other Unite flats way closer to BBK but the prices are much higher (£230 per week up), too costly for me.
Anyways, since BBK courses are held in late afternoon, I am going to look for a part time job, to help me with my finance.
Hope the above was of help,

Re: Birbeck - Undergrad Full time question. Thanks, that's quite useful actually I am applying this year for 2013 study for full time... so I can still get my maintenance loan if I don't get a place in halls so that's great. Thanks(Original post by Lore92)

Re: Birbeck - Undergrad Full time question.Philosophy, seeing as the director of humanities is Slajov Zizek - A post modernist cultural theorist, haha.(Original post by Lore92)
Ok, I wish you all the best then. What are you planning on studying?
I applied in August 2011 but got an answer from them in February 2012. So don't get discouraged if it gets some time before you hear from them! I also had to take the IELTS meanwhile...
