need to go uni, dont have A2
this is my second year of AS, and i think i might have failed again (results will be published 16th AUG), however i want to go uni,
my understanding is that I can go uni by doing a Foundation Degree, then progressing onto a normal degree,
however is there any chance of going in thru clearing (i haven't applied to ucas, nor applied for student finance).
thanks -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2Give the Unis a ring now(Original post by golfr32rep)
I should have mentioned, when i meant failed, i didnt mean U grades, i got EED -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2No, you need full A Levels for most courses as far as I know. You said you did 2 years of AS? Have you resat the entire year or have you started different subjects then?(Original post by golfr32rep)
but dont i need to have completed A2 aswell? or can just "AS" get me into uni ? -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2Can you not just finish your A Levels and apply next year?(Original post by golfr32rep)
I resat the entire year, and i want to do business/finance related course at uni
Otherwise (and this is just from a very quick google search, do you mean something like this:
http://www.londonmet.ac.uk/ug-prospe...agement-ex.cfm
^this one doesn't seem to need A levels at all.
http://www.londonmet.ac.uk/ug-prospe...usiness-it.cfm
^ This one does not specify full A Levels but you need 120 points -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2
Is there a reason you think you've failed your ASs again? If it's because you're finding the work too hard then it might be worth you considering something else, the work's not going to get any easier at university.
I'm not trying to be nasty, just trying to help you weigh up your options. -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2thanks, but the international business programme is for EU and non EU students, otherwise i would have applied to that course.(Original post by BethaneyJ)

Re: need to go uni, dont have A2Well that is what I found after 2 or 3 minutes of googling. I am sure if you do the same you might find something appropriate.(Original post by golfr32rep)

There are things like this all over the place but it is no different to finishing your A Levels especially as you might need to apply next year as it is late in the academic year now. -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2
Find a foundation degree, there's lots of unis that will be asking for specifically ucas points at around 120 and above.
Have a look at these

http://www.uel.ac.uk/undergraduate/p...tended-hss.htm
Look at other extended degrees/foundation degrees

Re: need to go uni, dont have A2
I am astonished to realise that after so many posts nobody has picked up on the basic error in the first post!
The OP does not want to be looking at a foundation degree. They need to look for a foundation course. There is a lot of difference between these! A foundation degree is equivalent to the first two years of normal degree, whereas a foundation course is designed as a stepping stone on the way to university. A foundation degree will last two years (though is often part-time so may be longer) whereas a foundation course is one year. Some foundation courses are integrated into degrees which means that if you pass the course you are guaranteed a place at the same uni on a relevant degree whereas others are not - check this out before you start because it can be difficult to transfer Unis after the foundation course in some situations. -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2very helpful reply, helped me alot, however now is there any way of getting student finance in time for september ?(Original post by Juno)

Re: need to go uni, dont have A2Not true. Anyone who registers for UCAS after the 31st June automatically gets put in Clearing.(Original post by Whitechapel)
No clearing will ask for your UCAS number. Plus the Unis need solid evidence of your grades etc -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2so could i apply to ucas now and then get a clearing course with AS levels ?(Original post by tufc)
Not true. Anyone who registers for UCAS after the 31st June automatically gets put in Clearing. -
Re: need to go uni, dont have A2You could definitely get into Clearing - whether you get a course, though, is another matter. The answer is that I don't know. I don't know any universities that will accept you with only AS.(Original post by golfr32rep)
so could i apply to ucas now and then get a clearing course with AS levels ?
