    Teeth whitening
Has anyone here done whitening at the dentist / laser and been happy with it?

I've tried at-home whitening and am not happy with it. I got it at the dentist (those braces you put on before bed) and it didn't work at all. I also hate sleeping with those things on, too much spit gather in my mouth
I'm considering doing at the dentist but am not sure what the results will be like?

I've not had it done myself but my mum has at the dentist and they look great! She had one treatment at the dentist then she was given these "top up trays" for at home.
Whilst speaking to the dentist he said most of the high-street teeth whitening products don't actually work (they're not strong enough). Which I believe because I've used them myself and have seen little change.

I would recommend having your teeth whitened at a dentist however, it is very expensive and as a student I can't justify spending all that money right now...so it'll be something I would do in the future

I would love for my teeth to be whitened but I also don’t know if I am just being vain. I have tried the whitening toothpastes but they don’t seem to work !! How much is it to get the treatment at the dentist?

Crest white strips work. Cause a bit of sensitivity (not much)

I have had my teeth whitened at my dentist, £290 the results lasted around 6 months then I wanted them topping up so I went to a salon for only £90 and the results were so much better, I have my own mouth trays and bleach if I want to top them up.
Most places will tell you that the whitening lasts forever but it will only last a few months.
I'd advice getting it done at a salon , it's cheaper and the exact same procedure,.

I found that pearl drops worked really well! I was suprised as I didn't expect them to make any difference at all but they really did. You have to be patient with it though as I only started to notice it after about a month of using it but its definatley a cheaper option than the dentist. Obviously pearl drops aren't going to make your teeth gleaming white but mine improved by 3 shades on the chart thing you get, I was really surprised!

Have ordered them now, so will see. Does it take long to see a difference?

Most people get their teeth whitened, ALL celebrities do. I don't have yellow teeth or anything, but it's become so common to fix them that you'll look gray/yellow in comparison to everyone else Besides, I've started drinking tea again, and it'll probably affect them.
I planned to go with the dentist, but went on a spending spree yesterday and feel like I should cut down on costs...

Salon's are cheaper than the dentist if you're lucky to have a Salon that does half price deals get them done.

You do realise that these processes actually damage the teeth and lead to enamel damage. Damage to the enamel then causes your teeth to look yellow, because of the dentin underneath. Hence, you'll then do it again and start a cycle of events.

Normal teeth are not white, but greyish/yellowish. I imagine someone will post a picture of a black person, but whatever.

I use polanight 22% hydrogen Carbamide which you don't have to keep in over night

You can also get poladay night which only takes a few minutes to work. It's the bleach that dentists will use.

Don't know about other dental whitening options but regarding toothpaste, I find Arm & Hammer, Advanced White is the best by far.

if you're young, i'd recomend just using the toothpaste for now. They do work, just very subtly. Brush twice a day and you'll notice some changes..

I've heard that teeth whitening makes your teeth to be even more sensitive than it was before. Is that true or fake? I have already pretty sensitive teeth and don't want to make it even worse. But would love to have white teeth
