i think spec wise they are over priced.. if u think that in say 3 years the spec will be rather out dated then the fact it lives 5 might be irrelevant. if u needed that relitive spec now in 3 years u might need it again to keep up with the newer programming been more resource hungry. just a thought

a friend of mine had a mac and he does alot of multimedia and grafix design stuff and for apps and such and he realy like macs ...

only thing s apple have a habit of putting fashion and flashyness ahead of practicality. they like to do things like make batterys inaccessible or glue the **** out of everything so u cant upgrade anything like ram. i remember the first macbook air battery would only take around 300 charges before it needed replaceing.

also when they do the whole glue stuff in thing, it means it cant be recycled. the eco-warriors will not be pleased

Alienware is an enormous rip-off, anyone who buys from them is technologically inept.
Not when you get it 40% off from the outlet store, with the most powerful graphics card you can get in a 14" laptop. Don't think I didn't research all the alternatives.

Where did you get a discount like that?

Meh. I don't see how people prefer laptops to a proper gaming tower with a larger display.

    http://www.dell.co.uk/outlet.

Refurbished as-new laptops, most of them perfect but returned for some reason or the other and sold at a much lower price. You don't get to pick the specs and the stock disappears very quickly, but you can get good bargains there.

In my case, I move around too much to justify a desktop. I can't carry a tower on a plane back home with me.

dont have many blue rays no blue ray drive not realy and issue. the msata is small but boot up was one of the main things i wanted to speed up, it on 40gb but a little bigger was alot more. so i also went for the 6gbs 7200rpm hard disk to make everthing run faster and was way cheaper the and kinda ssd as main drive.

[edit]also can u explain your thoughts on the processor?
If it's for boot up than a ssd is fine.................issue with ssd is storage, very expensive for space.

i7's generally like yours has quad core and 8 threads, which is the number of processes and has this thing called hyperthreading, which can cause issues with gaming and make it worse than an i5. The i7 is to be fair kind of pointless unless your going to use the power.

Not happening, the dedicated graphics is kind of poor on them compared to other similar priced laptops.
