Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for GeorgiaMr Speaker, I thank the honourable gentleman for quoting this document. This idea by certain members of the government that the idea of Georgia joining the EU is 'alien' is absurd.(Original post by Morgsie)

Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for GeorgiaBetween whom? Russia and the EU? not as close as you'd think. Between the EU and Ukraine, yes, fine however Ukraine will never join especially not when Russia is on her way to remerging as a global superpower.(Original post by Morgsie)

Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for GeorgiaMr Speaker, it is a sign of a losing man when he starts to use such unparliamentary language. I ask the Rt Honourable Gentleman once again to provide latest evidence or withdraw his comment.(Original post by tehFrance)

Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for Georgia
Mr Speaker, I should have provided those links earlier in this debate on the Accession Treaty to inform people of the relations between the European Union and Georgia. I hope Honourable Members will look at these links and if possible change their vote if they are convinced.

Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for GeorgiaI have Amy Childs on the brain, shut up(Original post by toronto353)
Has the debate in this House honestly degenerated to 'You shut up' 'No you shut up' or similar statements?
Thank you so muchLast edited by Morgsie; 01-08-2012 at 01:57. -
Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for GeorgiaWell I wouldn't go quite that far, but it's getting there.(Original post by Morgsie)
I have Amy Childs on the brain.

Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for GeorgiaMr Speaker, I would like to remind the Foreign Secretary that a member of his government has made a damaging accusation regarding Georgia. On several occasions the Environment Sec has been asked now to provide evidence for his claim. He has failed to do so and instead has resorted to using unparliamentary language. This is unacceptable. Either the Environment Secretary provides latest evidence for his claim or withdraws his damaging comment about a close partner of this country.(Original post by toronto353)

I accidentally voted yes apparently. Could this be changed to no please? Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for GeorgiaI wouldn't consider Georgia a close partner at all. You have yet to disprove me, if you can disprove my statements then I shall withdraw my accusations but alas you have not as you know that Georgia are harbouring terrorists, especially as Georgia is close to Sochi the Winter Olympic grounds where a recent planned attack has been discovered by Chechen's that had ties to Georgia (all news agencies).(Original post by eff01)
A close partner of this country. -
Re: T08 - Treaty of Accession for Georgia
Mr Speaker, we must not allow a nation with a GDP per capita below the global average to join at this moment. Georgia is simply not developed enough.
